the back is tight because you are compensating. I had costochondritis for half a decade. I fixed in less than a month by quitting popping my chest and started slouching my thoracic region forward while flexing my lumber/ lower back regularly. The terrible chronic pain I had experienced at my chest rib junctions disappeared so quickly. I think a lot of people think good posture is in the upper back and push their chest out(myself included) when the real issue most folks have is a weak lower back and not addressing that properly.

@@Chebito710 that's great to hear, keep it up! once the slouching fixes it stop doing it. also make sure to do kettle bell exercises or light weight deadlifts to fix that lower back:)

Have had costochondritis for 3 years now - get the worst flare ups while drumming - back pod made it worse so I had to stop using it - yoga, stretching and light weight training all help, but it never truly goes away - I am going to give this a go! Thanks for sharing all the info on this condition - it's amazing how little doctors, even physiotherapists and some chiropractors I have seen know about this condition.

I ordered the back pod to have with me during work at nights. Massive uncomfortable and in my opinion did nothing… most times made it worse so I quit using it. Most beneficial has been your stretches you shared in the past! But, now I’m gonna get this and try it👍👍👍 Thanks for sharing and Be well🙏

Does smoking cause flare ups in costochondritis? And would quitting actually help?

Also have the backpod and the intentions are good, but for me, it created a lot of flare-ups on my back. Real stingy and the pain level is around 8 out of 10 with my full weight on it. Keep posting Dr. Kulla! Thanks for the vid.

So far, what works best for me is placing two tennis balls on either side side of the spine just below the neck. Then bend the knees and work the tennis balls up and down on either side of the spine. Then push them down a little further and work their way down the spine. That loosens up things very well. It’s good to have something on either side of the spine.

I’m 17 and i went to the hospital the other day because i thought my heart was giving out. My EKG, blood tests and chest x-ray all came back normal. I keep having this pain through out my breasts and shoulders, tingling in my arms and pains in my sides. Are these all normal symptoms of costochondritis? This is really freaking me out right now and I need some more advice. 😭

my son is 18 he has had anxiety too but yes he has this pain due to a fall on his bike… it’s not going away it will go and calm, but he still has it after four years stay strong because now we know the name of this which is costochondritis. All you have to do is try to buy the pod and do the exercises or follow what the chiropractor or physical therapist in this video say, they said that the pod is very uncomfortable but everybody that used it long-term said it cured them so I think you have to be very patient and just use the pod in the correct way for not just one or two or three months sometimes it takes up to 7 to 8 months constantly every day using it the way that they explain in the directions and be strong and nothing stays forever. It will pass.

5/10 on pain scale is an amputated leg wide awake without any painkillers. Or it is for me at least. I can imagine a lot more pain before we get to 10 (which is instant death).

I don’t have chest pain I just can’t stop the cracking in my chest I have been using the back pod for a month and its working I barley get rib pain dose anyone have any tips because In ever video he talks about the back pod it sounds like he just shits on it

Just keep going. Use it once a day with light pressure. It shouldn’t be painful. I use the Pso-Spine too for my lower back and the back pod for my upper back closer to the shoulder blade. Works wonders
