This dog is all love and fun. My little girl is a mama's girl. I cannot imagine my life without her. Cadee takes my mind off of worries and always makes me smile. She loves my cats and other dogs and cannot wait until my grandson comes home from daycare. She loves everyone, but she is so devoted to me.

Cottons are great dogs! They are incredibly smart and loyal with great temperament and disposition. Non-aggressive and super companions. I miss mine terribly.

Thank you for this DOGumentary. We have a Coton and love him. They have such lovely dark, liquid eyes and a great personality - our Danny is the consumate companion dog. Having said that there are so many wonderful dogs waiting for a home in the local humane society or rescue group. Much as we love our Coton, we will never buy a purebred again unless he/she is a rescue dog.

Nice work. Our coton has been an integral part of our family and has only been separated from us (at least one of us is always home) 1 weekend out of 6 years. We have never taken him on a flight and might someday but for now, driving is the only vacation he can come with us.

I love the little Coton smirk. My husband says our little girl does 'Elvis' impressions. She also does a Meerkat impression. I can't imagine my life these past 10 years without our Cotons. Such sweet little loves.

Lisa, thank you so much for this lovely documentary. I'm in love with all of the Bichon breeds including the Bichon Frise, Coton de Tulear and Havanese. They all have unique personalities but there's something extra special about the Coton. To meet a Coton is to love a Coton. I have seen huge men who only like "big dogs" turn into puddles after meeting a Coton. They're special dogs.

My family and I just got our first dog last friday (21th june 2013). Just turned 2 months. I can already agree to this. And I have met other dogs. They are unique. Already now, 2½ days after I already feel the "take a bullet" feeling to him. It's like in the way he is you just feel he would do the same to you. I know it's "just" a dog and all and they aren't like humans. But still that way it feels. It was nice to know about a little more about our newest familiy member, Sigurd. =)

I'm so sorry for your loss. I had to let my Stanzi go back in 2008. It broke my heart, I honestly thought it would break in two. I was very lucky that Stanzi's breeder had Foxy Lady, Stanzi's daughter. Unfortunately the breeder was very ill, but she trusted me to give Foxy a good home, and I had the strength to let another pup into my life, I didn't know if I could love another dog as much, but I did. Take your time, let yourself mourn. Your heart will let you know what to do.

I'm so sorry that you've lost your dog. :( I cannot imagine that day. I have a friend whose beloved Coton, Chloe was featured in the Milestone Project (center on thumbnail). Chloe had an event around New Years and did not survive. We are ALL saddened by that. …but she lives on right here. We'll never forget her!

Adorei o vídeo. É difícil encontrar documentários sobre o Coton no Brasil. Poucas pessoas conhecem essa raça por aqui. Meu Coton está com 11 meses e pesa 5,500 kg. Ele é muito alegre, sempre disposto a brincar, é muito obediente e carinhoso. Tem um ótimo temperamento.

They're adorable. We have 2 sizes of Maltese, and I often wonder if the larger one is a Coton. He's 10 lbs and fits the description.

Lisa, This is so great. We have two sisters from the same litter. They are 3 years old and so very different from each other in looks and personality. They are the best. Do you know if there is a Coton Club in Georgia or the southeast? We live south of Atlanta. Also, do you know if there is a show schedule or any shows in Atlanta? I do not want to show mine, but would love to attend a show. We alos get, "a what" when asked what kind of dog is that!!!

How can i know if my dog is a coton? He was sold to me in a petshop as a maltese, but his hair is supper straght, but more flufy than silky. He has weighted between 8 to 12 pounds periodically, and he is definitly not fat. His legs are just a bit longer than a malteses, amd he loves to stand in two feet all the time. His face is also not as pushed back as a malteses, and he looks nothing like a poodle in any way, so no maltipoo either, is he a coton?

@CandyCrazy78 They have very distinctive personalities, CandyCrazy78. Some are very energetic and others are very laid back. They really tend to take on the energy of their owner(s). If you're relaxing, they're happy to relax right there with you. But they're "always" happy to go for a romp outside. Re: Potty training - I am no expert - but from my research and experience - it's best to crate train them - and as "early" as possible.
