You should have played this deck against "Journey Along the Anduin" to test its starting threat of 32 vs the Hill troll's 30 engagement. Passage thru Mirkwood is the easiest scenario there is, so every deck will look good against it.

This was the deck that got my atention when I saw the deck lists. The mechanic of getting stronger at higher threats is something I don't have acces with my colection.

its a neat mechanic, dangerous with some quests that can ramp your threat up suddenly.

I get this sweet deck as part of getting back into the game after 8 years... and my friends want to go through The Hobbit first. I may be completely wrong, but these starters look like they not only complement the revised core very well, but also get nice boosts from the Sagas. (And Angmar)

yes, new players will have a LOT more toys to play with than us vets, and they can buy it in more convenient packaging.

I just picked up the four starters at the weekend after struggling to get anywhere with my revised core, theses starters are a must have

At some point could you include your opinion on which pair(s) of starter decks would work well together for multiplayer/two-handed solo?

Our next podcast episode will be talking about that and more, we record next week (Episode 194). I am sure I will summarize stuff like that in my final video of this series. Thanks for asking.

I made a powerful deck with hero gandalf and two dwarf heroes. Sort of in a rut as i can win most games with a dwarf heavy threat reduction deck. It's great to see other decks and maybe I will leave my deck comfort zone.

I think a lot of people fell into a dwarf-zone for a while. It's good, you learn how the encounter decks can come at you and that helps with deckbuilding with other cards.

I would like you to count the points at the end. This way we can check how well did each deck. You made a good score with the Gondor deck though. 5 turns, 5 damage, 36 threat, no VP. Thats 91 if i am correct.

I've never scored a game lol.

Is there a way you could grade the video a little different in the future, try to bring out the red in the hit points? Cant read them in the youtube videos.. Like I am color blind or something.

Awesome video but I’m confused at the 3 minute mark. The rules specifically say, moving a resource does not count as adding a resource because it did not take a new resource from the token bank and the total number of resources controlled by the player did not increase. So why would Heir of Mardil trigger off of a resource being moved there by an Errand rider or other effect? The card specifically says that the attached hero must gain. According to the rule, in a “move “ nothing is gained or added -Nothing was added because the player didn’t actually gain a resource. So I don’t think Heir of Mardil triggers when you move a resource. Am I wrong?

It is easy to get confused by this, the important part of the rule is the bottom section that I point at. You said: "The rules specifically say, moving a resource does not count as adding a resource..." This is a correct statement, except HofM does not use the word Add, it says Gain. You are talking about 'Adding and Moving', but the card is dealing with 'Gaining and Moving'. Let me try to explain it this way: The rules say 'Gaining' is any time the number of resources in a hero's pool is increased which includes Collecting, Adding, Moving, Therefore, since HofM says: After attached hero GAINS any number.... Moving the resource would count, since Moving is covered by Gaining. However, if HofM said: After any number of resources is ADDED to his...Then moving would NOT count. If a card specifically says a resource must be ADDED, then the resource must have come from the token bank.

I would not have played the Envoy with 2 Hitpoints. I don't know, if you had known that they did a mistake, when you played it.

Nope, I didn't realize it. Nobody did. I was the first person who realized it as I recorded the Gondor vs Hill Troll video. This video was already released. I let the community know about it as soon as I noticed.
