Obsessed. I’m always so torn on wanting my house to be more modern (white walls black accents) and just straight up THIS!! It’s kind of both. I do have a question about the string lights. How do you be sure they don’t overheat your fabric at the top of your bed? I’ve always wanted to put lights up in a similar way but I’m scared it’ll catch fire.

Everything about this room reminds me of my grandma who passed away from cancer when I was younger. She had a ton of taxidermy butterfly displays and I was lucky to inherit part of her collection :) I would love to decorate my bedroom just like yours!

I love entomology. I pin butterflies as a hobby right now and plan on selling them very soon!! My house is getting overloaded with them lol. As for the bat, please check into it first! Before I read more about bat taxidermy, I went ahead and purchased a bat for my home. Not long after, i found out the truth about them. And it’s heartbreaking really. Anyone can claim they are ethically sourced but unfortunately that’s not the case. They are being killed by the thousands 😔 just thought I would let you know! 🖤

@@alyssanicolecyt I did do some digging. It's kinda scammy for places to say that. They say ethically sourced to mean they are bred to die. They kill these butterflies. It doesn't mean they are ethically killed. They do not die of old age, which would be ethical. Because an old butterfly would have had damaged wings. It's part of their story.

@@alyssanicolecyt honestly, it's really hard. Typically people who keep certain species will have some that are ethically sourced, but keep in mind they are usually damaged. Old butterflies will have messed up wings, they're so fragile! I don't love that there are people who murder butterflies for art, but I do see the appeal. I got papercraft ones instead for myself. You are in the same state as me, Callaway Gardens Butterfly Center might be a good place to start. They have a million butterflies that die naturally every year. I bet they'll have some great advice if you really want *truly* ethically sourced butterflies. I am not dogging either choice I just want you to be informed. *butterfly lover off nearly 33 years* 💝

I don’t wanna be a downer but white sage generally shouldn’t be used for cleansing if your not native because it’s a hard to find plant important to the ecosystem it inhabits and the ritual for smudging is something sacred exclusively to them. Of course there are many other ways to cleanse! Like spraying water with essential oils, khernips if your Hellenic, burning other herbs like cedar, or just burning incense with the intent of cleansing :) For the Scots their thing for cleansing is Saining with juniper or fat wood.
