We have catmint in our yard as well. The hummingbirds are my absolutely amazing and they LOVE the catmint. Bees absolutely love it too. It’s my favorite 😍

Us gardeners all have different styles and beliefs and all one common goal. Your garden is stunning but as a general rule there is such thing as planting too close, it doesn't mean you are stunting the plant necessarily, some plants will just grow and crowd others out. Planting too close opens up plants to diseases. Roses like to be pruned to have air flow around them and nothing crowding the bottom for instance. Another way to add depth to a space that is narrow is to actually add in greens that are different and not all the same green. Besides textures like you mentioned adding chocolate colored greens, blue greens, & yellow greens helps. It's fun to see a decorating channel show some gardening! A really fun and informative channel to learn from is Laura from Garden Answer. Happy Gardening

Your videos are all so beautiful. You do such a good job with everything you do. My favorite color combinations in perennial flower's. I am in the deep South and after July everything gets a good beating. I planted Zinnias last year and they thrived during the heat and they really put off a show. I had cut flowers for months. I really enjoyed them so did the hummingbirds. I also love cone flower's, coreopsis, and hummingbird plants 😊.

I also have a cottage garden, they are so much fun! This year I will have to divide some of my perennials before they turn into monsters 😁 I can use those pieces to start a garden in my back yard. I also am going to try some flowering herbs in that garden as I have seen those are often part of cottage gardens. There is a lot of room for experimentation with this type of garden.
