time to point between the rocks on those walls if you want to prevent more collapses... A little at a time, when time and supplies allow.. Nice sofa, well worth keeping for future holiday rental properties... It seems cottage No7 would be easy one to fix up for rental.. It needs so much less than some of your other properties to make into a holiday let and would have relatively quick turnaround in repairs to being available for rentals and becoming an income generator. So much promise and the two of you can see through the muck to see the potential. Good on you!

I would consider prioritising renovating that little cottage as it is in pretty good condition and would make a lovely gite to bring in some income. It is often hard to find places to rent for 2 people so think you would do well.

Great idea Sue and in line with what we’d like to do..but..there is no mains sewage here and so a septic tank (fosse septique) needs to be installed on this side of the lane which would come at a cost of 10-12K..just a small hurdle 🙄👍🏼🙏🏼👨🏼‍🤝‍👨🏻

Nice to see your progress. And it’s good that cottage number seven is dry. Should be your next goal to make a rental out of it to gain some money so that you can begin to repair all the roofs which is by my opinion the most important thing. I'm with dumping that sofa as it's not in keeping with the style of the village. I'm looking forward to seeing the village all repointed and finished. I wouldn't reinstall the upper floor as the vaulted look of the cottage 7 looks amazing and that timber work tidied up will look amazing. You guys should make up some rustic bird houses with some of the wood that is from these old buildings as there are some really good aged wood. You might make some needed cash to go towards the renovations. Enjoy all the work ahead as it will be beautiful as your village looks stunning ATM and will be wonderful when complete. You're very lucky to own it.

Bonjour! I'm in two minds about the sofa - I don't love the colour, but in a room that's full of mid century furniture and some nice soft furnishings it might come into its own. It might be worth some money in ~30 years if kept in good condition? Well done on tackling another section of the village. Lots of love from Bendigo 🇦🇺 xx.
