( I enjoy the elegant side )Ok this video was so helpful and I'm hoping that one day people will make a more simplified version of cottagecore because when I go to school I feel like if I showed up like a beautiful milk maid then people would probably be like "wtf is wrong with that girl" And in no way am I saying that you can't wear that stuff to school or work but I would just feel more comfortable in something simple

Hmm u can wear anything just make sure they have the cottagecore colors and u can add some flowers and some simple jewelry and a bandana and boom! your a cottagecore casual ;D

Reducing the amount of lace and frills can help simplify, switching them to ribbon trim and pintucks is an alternative

Ok I know I am late to the party here. I wanted to say that I have been wearing a more basic cottagecore for a WHILE and I had no idea that cottagecore was even a thing! I am also 27 so slightly not current in trend terms. I wanted to suggest the brand Doen to you, for cottagecore inspired pieces but it doesn't look like a costume which I think you said you were concerned about! Doen is a little pricey, I buy them second hand on Poshmark. You could always mix a cottagecore looking dress with white sneakers and a mini purse for a more streetwear look. Or you could wear a poofy sleeve cottagecore inspired blouse with trousers or jeans and some strappy sandals. It's all about balance. 😁 Just wanted to put my thoughts in here! I have traveled to a LOT of countries (obvi not since covid), and I notice in major cities such as London, Amsterdam, etc...street fashion is so eclectic and many people wear things like cottagecore but they mix it with black moto jackets or a baggy denim jacket. I've gotten to the age where I just wear what makes me feel awesome, instead of what's on trend! (But I don't like looking like I am wearing a costume, either! It has to be practical for my life, too!)

The items I’m wearing specifically are on the pricier side but I’m sure there are plenty of alternative available on online boutiques! Also, try your luck at the thrift store, they are bound to have lots of white blouses and floral dresses!
