Jay West - I could be wrong about this, but he started showing his heart only AFTER he got the gift decision against Pac. Up to that point, he was a much more strategic fighter. I think the outrage over that decision stung him, so he decided he needed to win the fans over by fighting with his balls...which was not necessarily the best approach for him (given his limited power), but did help him regain the respect of the fans...and probably helped his legacy. I guess that's my long-winded way of saying that we really didn't get to see his heart until after he "beat" Manny. Now I'm a big Bradley fan...though I think Cotto beats him senseless.

It is my opinion that although Hearns may not be the greatest 147-156 lbs, in his prime he would have beaten Pacman, Bradley, Cotto, big mouth Gayweather, Mosley. Being 6'1" with that long reach would have presented all these fighters (5'7" - 5'10") difficulty to reach him. Only the great Hagler (5'10")knocked him out, a tribute to Marvin's bravery, conditioning and brute power.

Hearns was one of the few fighters in history with a huge reach advantage that utilized it to the fullest. And he was really quick. Not the greatest but would beat anyone under 160 that ever fought.
