Long Maxi Wrap Skirt

I just made this skirt and I love it. I am a complete novice - this was my third sewing project ever. I wrote down the instructions as she spoke and filled in my own measurements. I also drew a diagram to help me "visualize" the skirt and that helped me adjust it to how I wanted it - I made mine a little fuller so that it shows less leg. I will definitely use this tutorial again and again for more wrap skirts! ❤️

Great tutorial!! I had to watch this video a number of times to work out how you did it but I got there in the end. I used an old sarong, so now I have an easy to wear summer maxi skirt.

You are not telling the truth, I sew and I had to rewind several times and make a sample.

@@IamDrNana No, it was honest and truthful. I find it very easy to follow. Probably because I made skirts perviously and know the basics. I just need to figure out the front cutting and she provided clear instructions on that and it works for me. i admit I had to rewind a little bit here and there but that was just because the video is fast. I made my skirt and wore it beautifully on my birthday.

I'm making this currently (great tutorial btw!) and I just wanted to comment that with the waistband, the final length for wraparound for me should be exactly 100 inches which was very satisfying XD

Love the skirt but having watched several times I'm still finding it hard with the measurements and the markings are not very clear might have to wing it and hope for the best

Beautiful skirt! I'm using this video in conjunction with free patterns online. I think your instructions are good, but the problem is there needs to be some pauses in the verbal instructions to provide a visual example of each step you describe. Otherwise it becomes a little confusing, especially since sewing is such a visual activity. Having a full, clear shot of the final fabric cuts is also really helpful!

I really love the skirt and want to make it, one thing is not clear for me. The line which is the length of the taper, at what angle is it to the waist? I really wish somebody can help me on this. I would even like to buy the pattern if it is available for sale , in PDF

I did this in black satin fabric and instead of hemming the edges I burned them with a candle because I was in a hurry. My friend told me I looked like a ballerina 💃🏻...thank you so much 🌺

Great video! Only thing I would suggest is, as someone who isn't an expert at sewing, adding your own measurement, or an example, so that we can understand better what you mean. I found it a bit confusing (and even more english being my second language). Anyway, lovely video! Warm regards

This absolutely needs more instructions. Like with the tapered measurement, what is the angle were supposed to mark it at? We never see the fabric with all the markings on it, or the piece after it was cut, but before the waistband and hem line were added. There are way too many editing transitions and changing angles and shots that you can't recreate the garment. And what about the button and the bow. You gave us about three steps with out showing and directions. Ughhhh I've been trying for 3 weeks to make this. And I just cant figure it out.

So I'm wanting to make this but without the taper - would I draw the full desired width instead of just half of it? Or is it still half? That's the only place I got a little lost, but otherwise the voice over did a great job explaining what you were doing

Super confused by all the measurements. Can someone please give me some concrete numbers to work with? Would have been nice if real numbers were used and not just abstract concepts, "your measurements x 2, divide by 4, plus seam allowance", or whatever it is. Head spinning. Also camera work was nice and clear but far too close. I had no idea what / where lines were being drawn or cut on the yardage.

Great skirt, but the instructions are very confusing and hard to grasp specially to a beginner. I suggest that next time just make it in lay mans term.. no need for any mathematical equations and stuff..
