Gosling is my favorite actor and a really nice guy, growing as an actor with fewer lines and more gore is distressing. I know this was before either one of them had daughters but watching Ryan's interview Refn about "Neon Demon" made my blood crawl. He talks about a necrophilia wet dream and then says it makes him think of pretty 16-year-old girls and then he throws in that his daughters will one day be pretty teenagers. I am sure he is talking about someone else's 16-year-old daughter. Right, it was Elle Fanning, who turned 17 while making the film. Watching Ryan laugh when he is talking about how interesting, funny and entertaining fantasizing about pretty dead 16-year-old girls is. I keep telling myself that I have heard Ryan say all kinds of wonderful things about the women in his life and women in general that he doesn't sit and fanaticize with Refn about this crap. Refn catches himself when he sounds too disgusting and adds, not physically.

Narek Avetisyan Gosling picked up the script from a studio after a version of the film with Hugh Jackman never happened (thank god) so Gosling gets hold of a ‘vault’ script and has the chance to get it off the ground. Fair to say he pulled it off.
