There is gonna be a year where everyone has one or even 2 losses so a three loss team will get in and especially when its going to 14 teams in a couple years and the fact that teams are more even than ever there is not many teams who just are outright dominating. 3 loss teams definitely deserve a chance if there schedules were difficult and the teams they loss to were all good teams as well.

Now, i will say Georgia is better than them (though if you continue to play like you have the past two weeks you could easily lose to all three of them) but losing is never impressive especially at a program like Georgia.

Having numerous strong teams play in the same conference makes SOR a useless stat, especially when teams like BYU have only beaten SMU and KState, who won’t make it far when it’s over. You’re also forgetting that SOR changes, and BYU won’t end in second. Let’s come back to this after they lose their first playoff game

UGA is lucky not to already be a three loss or even a four loss team. If UGA does not soundly defeat Tenn, then they have no business being in the playoffs. They will have lost three of their four toughest games, making their strength of schedule redundant.

With the new system every team should realize they have to take care of themselves by winning, a tough conference against a weak conference doesn't matter much like it did in the past years under a different system, I keep reading Georgia fans and Alabama fans saying they would beat other teams outside of their conference, I can understand them saying it but it still comes down to if you think your team is a national contender then they have no one to blame but themselves by not picking up w's instead of losses. Every coach and team realized prior to the season how important it was to win every game.

a precedent already been set. go back to atleast 1998 and whether you use the OG 12 team model or the current one, there were many seasons that a 3 loss team would make the playoffs. 2007 and 2018 are examples.

Can we please get some real people to give real assessments to these rankings. Stop giving the made for TV political answers because I want to keep my job. This playoff system is no better than the others before it. Why? Because we continue to let people dictate what should be instead of actions. Army, BYU, Indiana, and SMU should be ranked higher than what they are. You can only play the teams that are on your schedule. Stop giving excuses and passes when you want it to favor what you like. They keep making excuses and reasons why this team is where they are vs the others. Well they loss early in the year so it shouldn't matter. Or it was a close loss so they shouldn't be punished. Let's be honest, if SMU, Army, BYU or Indiana loses, they will fall out of the playoff with one loss because "their strength of schedule" when really because the committee doesn't believe in them. They are not the sexy name or popular name. Why did Boise State drop a spot. to 11 and now being discussed with not making it when their only loss was to #1 Oregon in September. The committee has made a mess of this again because they want to interject their opinions instead of letting the natural course of competition take place. Win or Loss. Did you win or lose? That's it. It doesn't matter if it was by 1 or 100. A loss is a loss a win is a win. All these schools are in the Division 1-A. I thought these championships are for Division 1-A schools and athletes. Football is the only sport which has the most scrutiny and controversy (even over basketball) because we are allowing humans to get involved. Let the teams and players decide their outcome. If Army wins the national championship good for them. They deserve it. Just like any other school.
