‘We know that 80% of the accidents was caused by human factor, but we don’t know how many accidents did not happen thanks to human.’ Yeah 100% agree! Form an information technology specialist and a private pilot license student point of view.

@@mariabeckwith3336yeah but for ripetitive actions and not with too many situations calculated… A human brain can imagine any situation, computers remain limited and not really ‘intelligent’ like a human brain.

@@MrSullivan369 Not true Do you really think an aircraft autopilot is more complex than a car’s? Do you really think the quantity of different situations is greater in the air than on a street? Tesla is succeeding with cars. Aircraft situations are so much simpler. From the pov of a 35 year jet pilot

A deployed AI does not learn. The learning process takes large data centers worth billions of dollars. A single task takes millions of "example" cases and days to months of processing time. Once developed, it is sent out to the user device and executed. Without being rules oriented, it is blind to something it hasn't seen before. Tesla's autopilot running into stopped emergency vehicles is a good example. Even with bright blinking lights, not included in the training, not stopping.

Air planes r already run by A.I a lot of plane crashes occur because the auto pilot systems will actually lock out the human pilot from gaining full control of the aircraft . The computer systems have fault systems designed to fix the aircraft but if there is a fault in the auto pilot systems it can lead to the airplane correcting the wrong issues that are actually occurring

Who is going to use your service if you push everyone to unemployment, AI? No one talks about what other employment opportunities will open up if all jobs are handed over to AI... Will the society be like the movie WallE? Anyway AI is a random prediction and it's very far off from gaining such high confidence on such complex machines like an airplane, this should also come with very high level of regulations and not just metrics like accuracy, f1 etc..

Every system can be compromised. Computers can be hacked. There would have to be manual overrides to regain some control.

Well-spoken Christoph. I prefer having two AI pilots in the cockpit instead of one AI and one Human Pilot. Since humans are prone to errors and mistakes, would we like humans to observe, interfere, and program /reprogram the AI in the cockpit?

@@avigator Human Intelligence has nothing to do with the undeniable human ability to make errors and mistakes. Human Factors and performance has absolutely nothing to do with Human intelligence. Perhaps you should read some books about Human errors in aviation. Most of the aviation accidents happen just because of the human error.

I’m a 35 year professional pilot and I’m at the 8 minute mark. Already 2 major factual discrepancies. 1. Yes the Hudson landing was awesome and showed great ingenuity by the awesome pilot… who almost lost his license in the inquiry for not making the decisions a computer would have made. The company wanted to bust him for not returning to land at the available airport. The pilot was great but a computer would have been better. So much so that it was part of his defense. 2 ‘An autopilot can only do what it’s been programmed’ was a true statement a year or two ago. My Tesla’s autopilot hasn’t been programmed to stop at a red light or to choose a parking spot but it does. So can a planes autopilot. Advances are being made at light speed! I hope this gets better.

Could it be any worse than the "humans" elected the past 40 years? The 2024 candidates might prove that AI is actually better suited to compute how others will be affected. I'm not convinced the current White House occupant is cognizant and the former occupant cares about anyone but himself. AI, brain dead or narcissistic mirror watcher.... which is worse?
