Honestly, I don't want to see Wilder in the ring again. AJ may have gotten spanked by Big Daddy Dubois, but it was a fight and he went down swinging. But Wilder just looks like he's afraid to get hit at this point. This would have been something interesting before seeing how tentative Wilder was against both Zhang and Parker.

I think he’s all but decided to make that fight next or risk losing it all together. Fair point about still tuning in to 9,15 in the world. I think a lot of people would get excited about wilder and aj and in fairness people like whyte and chisora have always been in the top 25 fighters in the division but never top 5 but always sell out arenas and in exciting fights so doesn't always have to be elite level boxing to sell and be intriguing. Both aj and wilder is a last roll of the dice loser retires and winner has the chance because of who they both are former champs if they win there not far off fighting a for a world title again whether that's right or wrong you know that they could jump the queue against the likes of parker and bakole, zhang who should be next in line but aren't big names.

U can see a scenario where fury beats Usyk and then defends against AJ next summer. But I personally wouldn't like that, cos I think AJ needs to earn the right to that fight after getting ko'd. If Fury beats Usyk, it should be Joshua-Wilder on the undercard of Fury-Usyk III. If Fury loses, then Fury-Joshua and Usyk vs whoever the IBF champion is (presumably Dubois still). Wilder could fight Ngannou in the meantime. As fans, we’re at a much bigger risk of losing Joshua-Wilder forever than we are with Fury-Joshua which can always be a marketable British grudge match at the end of their careers like Khan-Brook. This is the very last point in time that AJ-Wilder makes sense logistically and commercially for both fighters (and could be portrayed as a relatively even contest purely due to Wilder’s punch and AJ’s chin/nerves).

Personally, I think Joshua lost worst to DuBois than Wilder did to Zhang. Yeah, Wilder did the Michael Jackson spin move and then proceeded to hit the mat, but Wilder did make the count before the ref stopped it. Joshua on the other hand, simply got outclassed every single round and got knocked down several times before the final KO. Wilder and Zhang was somewhat close (although boring) before the TKO.
