🤣 🤣 🤣 You think Jim McMahon couldda' lasted 4 years if it were that bad?

@@dirkpalmer1067 Jim would have been kicked out, except for Lavell's intervention--he knew that having Jim dismissed from school would have killed his pro career before it started. The agreement that was arranged with the admissions office, or whatever entity was concerned, was that he was dismissed from school on the very day that the football season of his senior year ended. Jim's antics were also the reason BYU did little (if anything) to promote his Heisman candidacy, so he only finished fifth in the voting despite his amazing season. He knew that, and that was part of the reason that he was so bitter when he left BYU, but, let's face it--it goes both ways. He thumbed his nose at so many rules that he truly was lucky to be allowed to finish. Any player these days with the same mindset would never be recruited to BYU in the first place, let alone be allowed to continue there. Thankfully, Jim--like most of us--matured to an extent over time, let bygones be bygones, and has developed an amicable relationship with BYU, as we have all wanted. Note: I am not privy to anything that happened at that time--I didn't get to BYU myself until a couple of years after these happenings--so it's entirely possible that I don't have the details 100% accurate. But the gist of what I've relayed is.

Anything less than 3rd in the B12 and sweet 16 will feel like a disappointment… love it

It’s amazing that players on this roster have interest in playing for KY. The team is projected to be top 7 in big 12. This year will be tough. No projections but 20 win would be a good season. We will see

Well done video, great story well told. I think getting Kevin Young had a lot to do with this change at BYU. But I also think it's the change in the regulatory culture of the NCAA. BYU has always valued its reputation as a clean, above the fray program over athletic success. Now everything has changed, it's ok to use all those resources and, like the video says, the money is there. Watch out!

Maybe BYU is now opening up the bank and investing in their athletic department because President Reece has a doctoral degree in sports statistics.

They have rich donors. Ryan Smith (Jazz owner) and a couple other guys gave them about 50 million for coaches and players. And that's just to start. They're pockets are deep and if they have a great season watch out! They're one of the favorites to get the projected first pick in the draft in next years class! Kevin Young is now the highest paid employee at BYU. So there's no reason for him to chase money elsewhere.
