Was a Pope fan. His ripping his suit off on BYU's court was about as disrespectul as it gets. His silence, for what a week and a half, before he even spoke to cougar nation was disrespect as well. Being Kentuckys fifth choice is what it is. Wishing him all the best. I'll take Kevin Young everyday of the week....excited for what KY has done to hold the core of the team together. Excited about KY's recruiting. The KY era is gonna be grand....

Pope won a National Championship at UK. Don't think people understand how revered that 1996 team is in Kentucky. That year was the epitome of what Kentucky basketball is. I know because I was there. He should have addressed Cougar nation sooner, that is for sure. But when Kentucky comes calling, you understand if a guy leaves to coach his alma mater where he won a national championship. I think he helped BYU believe that they aren't some random school, that they can compete and win in the Big 12 ad fully expect Kevin Young to build and surpass what Pope has done at BYU. In time, Pope will succeed at UK, there are just too many resources you have to be incompetent to fail at UK.
