It’s so weird to me that Clavel isn’t considered a champion level trainer in game. It’s clear from his battle that he’s got what it takes to beat the elite four. The only explanation that I can think of is that he hasn’t bothered doing the gym challenge.

Yeah, my guess is that the team he has is, for him, more of a hobby. Considering how dedicated Clavell is to his job, he probably just doesn't see it as important to attain that Champion rank. Plus, he already knows how good he is, and that's likely enough for him.

You can teach any egg move by having a pokemon with that move in a picnic by having the pokemon that needs to get the move hold a mirror herb and have an empty move slot.

Actually the egg move rules in this game mean that any pokemon that learns Dreameater by levelup can effectively teach it to Oranguru with the help of a mirror herb. Just have the pokemon that knows dreameater in your party with a oranguru holding a mirror herb that has 3 or fewer moves known and it'll learn the move when you have a picnic. Some other pokemon are like this, like how Maril can only get bellydrum from Hyriama, a pokemon not even in it's egg group.

You can actually give egg moves without breeding for it. First you take the pokemon who you want to learn a egg move and delete 1 of its moves and you give the held item mirror herb. Then you get a pokemon who has the move and then you go have a picnic. This works with any pokemon an example you want your azumarill to learn belly drum but only have iron hands with the move well this actually works. This way even shiny pokemon you catch can have egg moves.

You don’t actually need to breed for egg moves, if Oranguru has an open move slot and is holding the Mirror Herb while ANY Pokémon that knows Dream Eater (so Gengar or Hypno, etc…) is in the party, you just open a picnic and then close it. Boom, Oranguru knows Dream Eater now.

Does the newbie Clive has what it take like Chavell to solve in Paldea. Houndoom was able to bring the doom. Taking a Low Kick but later incinerating the competition. Later spill the Tea. Later the Sus student with amoonguss win it out with abomasnow. With buff up stats and move combo can really change a battle. 860 power is impressive. Instead of Reflecting, with him more active role trying to take down the Team Star. It is Nasty Plot.. It really makes you how much of a newbie Chive is, With experience like Chavell oranguru’s Dream Easter from Alola could have made thing easier. It shows us Alolan are made of something else ----------------- I see how he’s a guy is master of disguise because of the poltergeist. Me and Opal use the mon too, mine is the authentic one. It makes the delicious tea.

I think that Skeledirge fits well with Clive. I can see Nemona using a Quaquaval. By the way I have an interesting idea just in case you want it to do it eventually: Can Pia become the champion? You know, that gym challenger npc that you speculated in a previous video as potentially being the fourth gym challenger that made it to the champion cup and battled againts Hop in Sword and Shield. You can even make a series with all the gym challengers since you can actually see the pokemon that they use in their teams since they all appear as trainers you can battle in the champion title defense battles and try to create their stories with the few lines they have and give them an arc related to the npcs they resemble (as if they were related) and to the other gym challengers too. I´ve seen your previous videos and your stories for the characters are all pretty creative and in line with their characters. So this could be a fun idea to try as well. And just to make it more fun, they´re also allowed to dynamax their aces.

Hope the docs figure out what's wrong quickly and good treatment is found on the first try!(I was lucky in being diagnosed quick with my mental health issues when I was young and finding most of my meds on the first try...but many of my friends and family were not that lucky on either department. I have friends who are struggling to even get tested for something literally all their friends who have it go "...those symptoms sound eerily familiar you should get tested for this" Thankfully the new doctor agrees. The old one...did not...despite it literally explaining all their issues if they have it. So may your doctors be good ones, diagnosis and treatment be swift and easy.) better than I did in my playthru of Scarlet, started with fire, and then got the Titans, Crab, Bird, Worm, Paradox, Sushi (it was rough battles against the gyms/team star) catching the former titan pokemon (ones with titan mark) it wasn't easy battles but I probably didn't have them at their best edit: (gym order was: bug, grass, electric, water, normal, ice, ghost, psychic, team star: fire, dark, posion, fairy, fighting)

So if you have a Pokémon who knows dream eater and Orangoru holding a Mirror Herb in your party when you start a picnic Orangoru will learn the egg move without needing to breed with that Pokémon. I was able to find this out when looking up how to teach my Staraptor double edge.

Alfornada is the only town in the game where you actively have to step into the Pokémon center radius in order to register its fly point. For some reason it is far enough away from the town to not count.

For future runs: Using a mirror herb you can pass any egg move from any Pokemon, in the same egggroup or not, to another pokemon. You just have to enter piknik for a microsecond and make sure the pokemon has a free moveslot. I suggest looking up the details

It's nice that you learned to pronounce Dragalge, but Florges isn't fla-grass, its name comes from floral + gorgeous. Floor-jess. Also because I'm a crazy person my decision to play Scarlet or Violet partly hinged on what color Clavell and the academy building's pokeball dome looked best in (I think they both look better in red) but I ultimately chose Violet because I hated Koraidon's design so much, the future Paradox Pokemon are cooler and I really wanted to use Ceruledge.

FYI: You can use a Mirror Herb to teach Oranguru Dream Eater. Video is done at this point but you can teach any pokemon an egg move by giving it a Mirror Herb then making it forget a move. You then picnic and mess around a bit while a pokemon that knows the egg move is in the same party.

I mean... kind of the only way you'd be able to play as the professors. The Paradoxes are end game catches that can't breed and are like 50-60 in level. It would basically be impossible to do their actual teams, especially since not all of them I think spawn until you beat the professor of your game anyways

Well except for the Iron Treads and Great Tusk, since they're also catchable Titans. I do have to say though, Turo's team would be the stronger one. Tyrannitar, Hydreigon, Gallade/Gardevoir, Hariyama, Volcarona, and Delibird. Delibird would be the only weak pokemon on the team, the rest can kick ass ten ways t Sunday on their own. On the flip side, Sada would have Salamance, Magneton, Jigglypuff, Misdreavus, Amoongus, and Volcarona. Volcarona and Salamance are the only strong ones on the team, with Jigglypuff being miles weaker than even Delibird. Hell, Turo would just need two pokemon minimum to sweep Sada's team. Hariyama or Delibird with an Ice attack to one-shot Salamance, and then use Tyrannitar with EQ, Iron Tail, Crunch, and a Rock move to wipe out the rest.

Oh good, someone else noticed that Youssef's name vanished in his dialogue. What the heck. Did you interact with the Pokemon center in Alfornada? I think that's what opens up the waypoint. dude that's not what ptsd means come on, be better than that. Penny is FROM Galar so it wasn't so much a vacation so much as house arrest The fact that Clavell was friends with the professor is very underrated. In a scenario like this, he would have been fighting essentially the lingering will of someone he once highly valued, now beyond anything he can help. I do wonder why the AI didn't ask him for help but considering that they implied they were unable to contact Arven directly, and hadn't spoken to Clavell until it came time to ask YOU for help, they may have massive limitations in their programming that prevent them from reaching out to people the professor knew. Good to see some Clavell respect!

A lot of people say Starfall Street was a bad story because it was cheesy in places but in all fair honesty, it's a pretty messed up story in its own right if you pay attention to it. The fact that there was a massive bullying issue in the school, the bullies dropping out once they're stood up to which painted a massive target on Team Star's back, and the fact that the old faculty of the school literally let Team Star take the fall and cover up what really happened is honestly kinda dark by typical pokemon standards. Also, Clavell has to be one of the more well written adults we've seen in a good while. He's literally a man who takes pride in his work and was an open minded headmaster willing to step up and reach a hand out to his students to understand what was wrong. It's an admirable set of traits when working in not only such a prestigious but also very difficult position like that. They nailed what a respectable adult should be while equally still keeping him a bit goofy and lighthearted with the "staying hip like the kids" theme.

From the starting cutscene I think Nemona would pick Fuecoco, so Clavell/Clive would have Sprigatito since he always has the starter weak to hers.

Been a while since I played through pokemon Scarlet. Believe it or not, the fight with Clavell was one that actually challenged me the most. I did beat him on my first try but it got way too close for comfort.
