Specialist Nen abilities already defy normal affinities and clarification by definition, so why not?

Enhancers probably have 0% chance of getting a specialist ability not because it's impossible but because it's a 1 in a billion chance to get that. Also it could be possible but only through genetics similar to Kurapika, as specialization could come from an inherited trait if I'm not mistaken, maybe the Joestars could have some inherited specialization thing along with their birthmark.

I was thinking about what would the Jojo's nen type be and going by Hisoka's personality test, I would say Johnathan: Enhancer or Conjurer, simple minded with most of his main abilities improving what he already has, but with him also being very analytical, that fits Conjurer to a tee. Joseph: Transmuter, a sly trickster, very similar to Hisoka himself, and often hides true intentions (like cheating on his wife) Jotaro: Specalist, I kinda see him similar to Chrollo, introverted and usually keeps to himself, but can be a great leader and role model if needed Josuke: Manipulator, The most selfless and most willing to help his friends, while also going towards more selfish needs as well, like rigging the lottery. Girono: conjurer, very serious, dosent show a lot of emotion, most determined to get tasks accomplished, similar to Kurapika Jolyne: Im thinking Emitter because shes the most short short tempered, similar to Leorio.

Spoilers for the latest chapters of HxH We actually got it soft confirmed thanks to Morena during the Interrogation Card Game, that Specialists pretty much get 100% proficiency to everything in Base. Kind of suggesting Kurapika's emperor time allowing him to become a specialist to have 100% proficiency in every category is actually inherent to all specialists and isn't specific to him. Specialists tend to just get typecast into the one ability that they specialize in. But as far as the chart is concerned, you can make Jotaro a specialist pretty comfortably and still have him exhibit Enhancer traits.

Iirc on the nen chart, the specialist category is 0% for everyone except specialists. The reason the nen chart is positioned how it is comes from how distinct nen types relate to each other, and by extension how likely users of one category are to be capable of learning how to use the others effectively. Specialist being between manipulator and conjuror comes from tendency among nen users, where a person's type can on occasion change over time, and while changing into a specialist is rare it's most common for conjurors and manipulators and least common among enhancers. If I'm not mistaken it's not out of the question for Jotaro to be an enhancer who develops a specialist trait, it just makes him extraordinarily rare among nen users. It does also fit the way his personality & stand are shown to change over the course of his backstory & part 3. Strictly speaking though if we were to equate stands to nen abilities (which is admittedly flawed), then they're all crazy hybrids. The HunterxHunter guy who could make a clone was said to be an enhancer with an ability that worked off conjuration & manipulation (making & controlling the clone).

The personality test was invented by Hisoka based off his own observations and experiences. It’s not 100% accurate but is correct most of the time. Jotaro could easily he an exception. I think you have Jotaro backwards. His fighting style is direct because his stand is direct. He has a short range, high powered stand. His nature is definitely more in line with specialist, as is his abilities. For such a jacked guy, he almost never gets physical, relying on Star Platinum's physicality for most things. Even in that regard, he "leads" his stand. I don't think he needs enhancer at all, he fits the bill for a specialist outright.

I dont think the reasoning for josuke would work necessarily. Of course it could be up to interpretation, but it was shown several times that josukes ability operates on the idea of wether or not something "is still part of the whole", as shown with him being able to affect his blood, since it wasnt part of him anymore. Furthermore, to me that always felt like it was up to what he personally believed to be the case, so in order to repair ancient artifacts and ruins he would need to believe that they are not in their "unrepaired" form the way they are. This, i think, would be considerably hard, since he would be so chronologically removed from the ruins in their old complete state, that he might just believe that a ruin is in its "repaired" state, exactly when it is a ruin.

I feel like putting the Joestars at the end of their journeys is kind of unfair, I mean, knowing the abilities they'd use makes sense, those are already there kinda (Jotaro being so quick was just the Time Stop manifesting) but giving Johnny all the Tusk acts or Giorno GER is kinda overkill.
