About the Holderness Family
The Holderness Family creates original music, parodies, and Vlogs for KZbin to poke fun of themselves and celebrate the absurdity in circumstances most families face in their day to day life. They published "Christmas Jammies" in December 2013 and life hasn't been the same. Since then, their popular parodies, "All About That Baste", "Baby Got Class," and original music "Snow Day" have received national news coverage. Penn, the Dad, took a chance and left his job as a news anchor to join his wife Kim, the Mom, at their video production and digital marketing company, Greenroom Communications, LLC. Lola and Penn Charles are always happy, respectful and eat all of their vegetables (that last sentence is a lie). Penn, Kim, Lola, and Penn Charles publish music videos, Vlogs and special KZbin challenges to this channel every weekday. Our viewers have become our family and we try our best to respond to comments, suggestions and special requests! Subscribe to be part of this crazy family! Thanks for being here.

My fav songs r i think we're alone now by tiffany and scream by michael and material girl by madonna 😂. Ive been trying to find a flip phone and a telephone but i dont know where to find one 😢 all i wanna do is go bike riding with my friends to the mall or an arcade but my friends are always too busy playing videogames lmao

@@dizzyditz5204 A flip phone? Flip phones were from the late 90's and 2000's not 80's. Nobody had cell phones in the 80's. I was born in 1982. I don't remember anybody in my early years of my life with a cell phone in the 80's or early 90's. I even asked my Dad if he remembered seeing anybody caring around one of those brick shaped cell phones in the 80's and he said he couldn't remember a single person with a cell phone back in the 80's.

I think the reason I am 11 years old and obsessed with the past is because I grew up with the past. I used to watch 80s and 90s shows on a VHS in my room. I listened to all 80s music. I did and do listen to old radio shows from the 1950s. And I just love the overall aesthetic of it all.

Esther Hooker Same I watch Friends and Full house now on Netflix and wear high waisted pants w/ tucked in shirts. My dad is obsessed w/ 80’s music and plays it loudly on his speaker and bc I have tiny bedroom I don’t hang out in it often so I would be sitting doing my homework in the kitchen and my dad would walk in a play some 80’s music loudly and the upbeat funk and pop motivates me and boosts my energy levels

Yes British tv created a series called Electric Dreams. Where a family for 4 weeks lived through the 70s, 80, 90s, and 2000. Each week was a different decade and each day of the week is a year in that particular decade. The Tech Team on the show would introduce new technology that came out in a particular year in that decade.

I would love to see kids who are preteens/teens today take part in a TV show that takes a house transforms it into decor that was popular in the 1980's. Then place a family or kids that are absolutely obsessed with 80s nostalgia and make them live like it is the 1980s for 3 months. No smartphone, no internet, no social media. They will have telephone landlines, tv with 80's tv sitcoms, cartoons, tv dramas, movies, and news networks and news stories specially fed through a rigged up old 80's tv set. Technologies, toys, fashion, and music will be introduced to the participants according to the year it was introduced to public in the 80's decade. The weeks/days would be divided for each year of the 80s throughout the 3 months.

Doesn't change anything. I had a home computer back in '89. It was from '81. The games on it too. But even if I played these games, I knew exactly that they were outdated. We weren't poor, but didn't have a modern computer or consoles. But you just had to go to a local mall, to see what's modern. Or to watch TV to see the commercials. Or you saw a up-to-date game when other children played on them on a handheld at the school yard.

Correct. Pong was a '70's game. Not only was it inexpensive but it was totted as helping with hand/eye coordination. The Commodore 64, Texas Instruments (various systems that had to be programmed to play games but made for a very large calculator too!), and Atari were all out in the late 70's/early 80's just before the advent of Nintendo (1985) which was totally an 80's thing.

Jazzercise was *never* cool for kids- We were Break Dancing, or going Punk or New Wave by the early/ mid 80s. 4. We always bought a super long cord for the kitchen phone so we could take the handset in our bedroom and close the door for privacy. You'd alwats see this long cord stretching down the hall and know someone was on the phone!

Monty Beetle it might aswell be for anyone under the age of 25, not to be funny or anything but look at the state of young people today, it’s really bad in the uk.

@@relentlessoverkill4480 Actually, I've met some really nice and fairly switched on younger people in the UK these past few years. When people complain about Millennials, that's a lot of people of different ages! We had arrogant twats back in the day, nowadays you just hear about them more, thanks to the internet. In my experience, every decade I've lived in has had its ups and downs. I could happily do without 80s hairstyles, though.

I’m 27 and I really would have loved to live in the 80s full color like my parents did. I only got to live tiny fragments because where I grew up time seemed to go slower than how things in the world were going fast and so, I got to enjoy most things like the life without internet or playing on the streets until the night lights came out. Sadly today everything just seems so different. But, to be honest I would love for the 80s to come back. 😢

I would give up the next 10 years of my life to spend one more day in the the '80s again. That's how much I miss it. Even though I may be more successful, have more money, and a family now, I would give it all up to go back if I could. Yes, every decade has its problems but as someone who has lived as a full grown adult since the 1970s, I would take the problems we had in the '80s over the problems we have today. I cried a little bit inside writing this and seeing these videos. Sigh...

These videos are so funny. I'm 21 and when I used to be in high school and I had a huge fascination with the 80s and I still do and I always will. My mom was born in 74 and my dad was born in 73. So they grew up in the 80's and graduated from high school in the early 90's.
