Taking 3 years off from anything doesn't make you better at that thing. There's a reason they call it 'ring rust' as a negativism, not 'ring virginity restored' as if it's a good thing to be away so long. He's also 42 now and past his prime physically, so if there was ever a good time for this fight for Stipe it was coming off the DC wins, but Jon wanted no part of a fair fight. He ducked Ngannou, and Aspinall, and even Stipe in his prime.
