@@MotoManTVYes indeed...and the form factor a whole lot of otherwise sedans and 5 door hatches--that don't look it--should be (looking at you Civic, Accord, Integra and other Acuras, etc)...thanks also to Volvo and to a degree Audi, Mercedes leading the way. It's been criminal we've been denied the 5 Series Touring as long as we have (2012?), damn SUV market...says an SUV owner!...but I'm at heart an old wagon guy so love this. The Signia should kill the Crown sedan -- hopefully, which in its current form sort of seems the answer to the question no one asked -- the sedan frankly has done a poor job of passing on the "crown" of the Avalon.

I’m a little confused about the “station wagon” comparison. I’ve heard almost every reviewer use those words. I’m not seeing it. It looks like a normal SUV to me.
@StopWhatYerDoing9 ай бұрын
No one buys station wagons, so they refer to it as a catch-all 'SUV' because that's what everyone thinks they need right now. This is just a lifted wagon with a taller body, like the Subaru Outback. Although it can be argued that modern SUV/crossovers are just tall lifted hatchbacks and wagons anyways. The Outback is very much a lifted wagon though, but Subaru themselves calls it an SUV for marketing purposes. We're seeing the same thing with the Signia. It's still referred to as the Crown Estate outside of the SUV-crazed United States.
@MrNemo72110 ай бұрын

Wish the crown sedan was a liftback/sportback/hatchback. They really dropped the ball on that. The only way to convince the crossover lovers to try a car is to give them the utility. The standard "Crown" in the Japan market is a sportback design, but the American market is high on SUV's & crossovers for it to come here.
@cafn8ed7410 ай бұрын
Wagons are pretty great, and I think more Americans would drive them if they weren't afraid of looking like parents (even those of us who are). However, instead, we have a fleet of wagons on lifted suspensions that exude adventure, but trip over their own hiking boots if pushed too hard into a corner. I'd love to see more "cool dad" wagons that shed the stigma and can hold their own on cloverleaf or curvy country road.
@MrT_RainMan10 ай бұрын
I am a total wagon man with more than a few 3 pointed star types under my belt. That looks like a SUV wanting to think it is a wagon. No SUV will ride as good as a German wagon. It is too bad the US population is like sheep in they follow everyone else on the SUV path. Wagons will always ride better, handle better(most people don't know how to drive any more), better mpg, more interior space, look far far better and are safer!
