Gm Gil. Was a great series and a stark reminder how far in ever facet the Isles are from contending. Its very typical after the season concludes for numerous players from the cup final teams to depart in FA. The Isles i am certain are not going to be a destination for any of those players. this team requires a complete teardown.

Good morning team. Gil, the season is officially over. Just think, the season begins in just over 3 months. Time for the Islanders to get better. Being the same means we've gone backwards. Time is not on their side. Thanks for bringing us the podcast, Gil. You make going through the offseason easy. Looking forward to what the team has in store. Building our prospect pool is a great way to start. Lou isn't capable of that though. Give away picks for players we have our eyes on. If Okposo calls it quits, he'll be doing it in style. The Winnipeg Jets First Round Pick, Rutgers McGroarty, wants to be traded. If Lou Lamoriello's smart, HE'LL SNAP THIS KID UP. He's 20 years old, he doesn't have Bob Bourne or Yvan Cournyet type speed, but he's still got other skills. This was a great Final series, one I haven't seen in a long ⌚. Connor McDavid won The Conn Smythe trophy 🏆, so it's not always a package deal. Now, when the season starts, THE ISLANDERS HAVE THEIR WORK CUT OUT FOR THEM WHEN THEY PLAY THE PANTHERS, AND THE CREEPY OILERS, TOO. Erickson, a smart 🏒 player, but he needs to get a little more grimy. HAPPY 🎂, UWE KRUPP. He had a goal and 3 assists and The Islanders crushed Vancouver. This team needs playmakers, we have goal-scorers. Just need people to get it to them. Nelson would put up Hyman like numbers if he was at a team like Edmonton.

Who are the goal scorers you are referring to? Horvat, Palmieri and Nelson topped 30. I doubt Palms can do that again but I'd love to see him do it. The Isles need goal scorers. Hard to believe the Isles have enough attractive players/draft picks to appeal to the Jets. I'd put the odds of getting McGroarty at less than 5%

No way. Hawks in a package deal are supposedly offering reichel, murphy, first for mcg. and ehlers. Of course chevy is not that dumb to take that deal. No way isles can compete against that and will be outbid on trade market by teams with assets so why even try? When you have assets in draft picks and plenty of cap space like hawks do you can pursue guys that are up for grabs. Isles are shit out of luck on that one. And fla, cats win the cup. Nice to see kyle o. get a ring in probably his last game. The 19th different team to hoist cup since isle dynasty died. 4 of them didn't even exist back then. And it's not gonna happen under louzer-just a fact of life under louzer. And as louzer snoozes until his day 2 ufa bottom line bargain shopping east teams continue to make moves. b's move ullmark to sens for a first (sens 25th), korpisalo, with b's retaining 25%. Now b's somehow have two firsts. And flyers are getting a skilled russian over to nhl next season and still have chips to cash in on giroux tdl deal two years ago with a first this draft. And merulo called it quits as az. 'deactivated' owner last night. I guess he took his $ billion for doing nothing and went away. nhl made the right call to end az. fiasco after the season and get them to slc.

The Isles lack the ammunition to pull off many big trades. Lou is gonna Lou which typically means something along the lines of "We tried to make a hockey trade but it takes two teams to make a trade, etc." Heard about Yotes, I feel bad for Arizona hockey fans but I can't say I'm surprised. McGroarty wants out of Winnipeg because they won't guarantee him a roster spot, he does not want to go to the AHL. Of all the GM's in the NHL, Lamoriello is the last one to guarantee a 20 year old prospect who has never spent a minute of ice time playing against grown men a roster spot on the big club. Interesting idea Gil....highly unlikely.😊

@@LockedOnIslanders the kid is going to play in the nhl. chevy is going to want similar quality back, be it a high first rounder or roster player. would not be suprised if nothing happens before draft. that being said im sure chevy would like to get something done while the kids stock is high. maybe see rutger pakaged with elthers for a bigger trade. just a thought.
