I haven’t considered Yonex for tennis shoes before but I like the look of these and they seem sturdy when you are doing the drills. Will definitely look into these for my next pair!!

Hello, Did you also wear the Eclipsion 4 model? If so, could you please tell me how they compare with these?

Any suggestions on how to get a better lockdown in these shoes in addition to using a runners loop? I am using some power step orthotics in these shoes and for whatever reason I can’t seem to get them to lockdown around my ankle and really secure my foot inside the shoe. Still getting some heel slippage. Open to any suggestions you might have. Did you have this issue in your play test?

I think Yonex Eclipsion fit great out of the box, but are stiff and requires break in. It took me about 5 hours of lighter hitting sessions before the shoe was comfortable for full games / training sessions.

They are quite thick, which I feel will make them very durable. I wore them at work the other day, and had a full day of coaching. With 10 hours on court, I felt I broke them in right away.

At the beginning...were you wearing the Adidas Court Jam Control 1/2? How would you compare the fit in the toebox with those?

Yes I was wearing them. I actually bought them just last week. I needed a white pair of trainers to play at queens club, so just ordered any cheap pair. They are actually so comfortable, but not as durable. Expected, given the price of £55. The fit in the toe box is perfectly fine for me.

@@SupremeTennis yeah, I felt the same. Those Court Jams are so comfortable. The toe box is pretty square and straight and so good in the pinky toes. Would you say the Eclipsion 5s aren’t as square and comfortable on the pinkies?

I’d say relatively normal, maybe leaning slightly towards the wide side
