Managing money is different from accumulating wealth, and the lack of investment education in schools may explain why people struggle to maintain their financial gains. The examples you provided are relevant, and I personally benefited from the market crisis, as I embrace challenging times while others tend to avoid them. Well, at least my advisor does too,

People in the U.S. need to do research first if they wish to retire in Ireland. The laws have changed since 5 years ago and currently is utterly unfavorable for most retirees. Even my Irish friends were unaware of this. Last year i started looking for my little cottage, because of the virus I couldn’t get over, but friends helped having a look at the homes I was interested in. I found it, the ONE! That was when I found that I didn’t come close to meeting requirements. The thing is, I could afford to buy (in cash), I could afford to live independently with my pension and retirement savings. Live simply. But the amount needed by the government, cash at hand and yearly income far exceeded my perfectly adequate money here. (FYI I live on the coast of California). I love Ireland so much and feel my heart is there in every way. I’m a quiet country girl and love the simple things in life. My Irish friends say I’m at home there, fitting right in. When I house sit for a friends 300 year old farmhouse on 12 acres of land in co. Carlow, the first thing I pack to bring are my grandmothers old aprons. I’m cross stitching a lovely thatched cottage at the moment, guess I can’t give up the dream...there is a saying across the bottom ‘Home is where the heart is’...Níl Aon Tinteán Mar Do Thintéan Féin ~ There’s no place like home.

Hi Wildflower, greetings from England! What degree of financial resources are the Irish Govt. Demanding for residence? I have been on fishing holidays there a few times and loved the country and the friendly people.

@@KapitanKremmen hello! I agree, I think Irish people are the kindest in the world. Here are the requirements for moving, especially the revised immigration laws (in 2015). ie.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/local-resources-of-u-s-citizens/living-in-ireland/ ( sections 1 and 4) I was aware of certain financial requirements in other countries, it makes perfect sense Ireland should have them too though I am no where close to the numbers a person needs, to relocate there. And this is something that has to be done annually. Proving your net worth. I just wish to live a quiet peaceful simple cottage life there...I’ll keep dreaming! Good luck to you🙏🏻☺️☘️

@@Alpinewild444 Thankyou for your response and information links......oh dear, as you say, the onerous financial demands of the Irish Govt., Place retirement residency completely out of range. Oh well, another dream perishes, strange that people with imagination have insufficient funds whilst so many with funds have insufficient imagination! The Californian coastal life must have it's compensations though, as does life not far from the coast in southern England. Be happy! 😁🇬🇧🇺🇸🏴🇨🇮☘👍

My mom moved back to England because she never really liked America. I love my country but I like to watch you tube videos of England and landscape photography. Often thought what it would be like to live in a small house or cottage, fireplace, big comfortable chair, reading good books. You video had an affect on me.." lets go". But I am old, limited mobility. So i can dream and enjoy your ability to excite. Thank you. I'll be watching for more videos. Yes ireland is a beautiful country. I´d very much like to be near but not in one of these two places and spend something like €120,000 on a house for two people. I like to BBQ and I wouldn´t mind having four or five fruit trees for a small orchard. ¿Possible? We´ll only be there half the year and spending the other in Spain. I live in the West Country and there is a house up for sale at the corner of my lane with three bedrooms and about four acres of land. But there the similarity ends. The four acres is very steeply sloping and has two public footpaths across it. If you put a horse on it, the horse would need to have two legs half the length of the other two. This house is half the size of the one in your video. I don't mind that some of the rooms are weirdly shaped but two of the bedrooms are tiny. And the price? A mere snip at £299, 950! I think this house is an old house, probably late Victorian, due to the shape of the windows on the rear elevation which are much smaller, and the fireplaces in every room. You didn't show the walls. A house in the country this size from the era I am thinking of would probably have a triple thickness wall - about 20 inches and the walls would be solid. If you look at the window reveal the thickness of the wall is obvious. Great channel!

I live in Co. Sligo and this house is located in Gurteen. It’s off the beaten track and not near the coast or much scenery. It’s pretty flat. House prices are probably amongst the lowest in the county. Where I live, this house with no land would probably make €350,000-€400,000.
