Actually, BoomCO uses some sort of plastic material for their darts. Which personally I like better anyway. With the material they use, if a dart gets pinched or something, you can fix it. Wheres a pinched foam dart is stuck like that forever. Plus - you can paint the plastic. Could paint them to be like bullets. :P

Just a camera angle note. If you can get an alternate space to film in or rearrange things a bit it might be a good idea. The only time the audience is able to view the item being reviewed is when you lift it into the camera field and invariably you have to put it down again so we don't ever get a really good sustained look at the product.

Although it's a pretty expensive $50, and it seems as though it's performance leaves a bit to be desired, I still BADLY want this MA5D blaster. I've been a Halo fan for most of my life, and have access to the tools necessary to make modifications, so I do see myself not just buying the Assault Rifle but also looking into how to modify and improve it. (Just like what I did with Halo 1 on PC so many years ago! XD) I'll be on a lookout for good mod guides for this blaster in the future!

I would bet money that the reason it skipped darts is because you were burst firing. The mechanism will think that you shot them... when u didn't. That's why when u shot that clip full auto, none skipped. I have shot at least 1000 rounds full auto just Messing around at wars. Only skipped when I burst fire. If u have a huge clip it doesn't matter tho.

Spartans are humans with Augmentations. They may have a shit ton of tech on their suits, but that doesn't make them robots. ( 3:46 ) Besides, Chief, and several other Spartans have been known to use low-caliber rifles and SMG's. Like the MA5C and the MA5B. Some even use the SMG's that ODST's are known for using in their covert ops.

Two things: 1) I'd like to see an internal video to get an idea of how much dead space is inside the top section. If possible, I'd love to stick a compact air tank in there, with the pump coming out of the screen/sticker section, feeding into a singled barrel (or possibly even a Burstwave absolver barrel?) positioned where the faux barrel currently sits. 2) What is that blaster in the bottom right with the white and black grip and the red body? I love that you are able to be critical reviewing this. I wanted a MA5 since I was a wee lad in my preteens when Halo 3 came out. I had no clue this existed until a few hours ago. I like that you showed it with alternate mags, I had no clue it could take more the standard one. Dart guns have really changed from those old ass Nerf Mavericks I rocked back in my day. But then again even those tactical strong Walmart lightsabers we had as kids are also gone now. Probably because they could really crush fingers. My folks taught me to use proper gun safety before they let me have unsupervised access to rubber-band guns and nerf guns as a kid. I don't know why but for some reason to me, cosmetic wise the MA5 blaster could of looked a lot better if they formed the clip system to look a bit more closer to the games since that would probably make as accurate to the games as the a lot of the blasters (at least the UNSC blasters anyway) do.

I think this would've worked better as a flywheel blaster. They did that one with the three cylinders, and the one with two cylinders, so it's not like they don't know how to. But that's just my opinion.

the reason its skipping darts on the older clip is because it dosent lock when you burst fire so it slides a bit

Out of sheer curiosity; how does a magazine (EDIT: clip) increase FPS of a projectile? Can you get any more significant air seal from a different mag?

Plugging the air release holes on the side of the magazines increases your effective barrel which gives you a longer distance to build up pressure.

Have you thought of fitting a super powerful inline dart shooting mechanism inside the top of the shell so that it shoots out of the actual barrel. At least you could fit a far shot mechanism, then you would have both a boss sniper & a sick full auto blaster all in one.

I'm still waiting for a decent replica of the AR that has an appropriately placed magazine, with either good or accurate capacity, whether it be 32 to match every game save CE, 60 to match CE or something insane like 300 to be able to go toe to toe with most other airsoft assault rifles. A functional ammo counter would also be amazing, but not necessary as that would be really difficult and expensive to engineer. Obviously yes, I'm a Halo fan more so than just Boom Co.
