Your right they were up in arms at the time. Telling people that the show & subsequent Film was blasphemous. As soon religious people condemnd it. 1000's flocked to see the movie. Talk about advertising lol

I don't remember any Catholic uprising over JCS. My religion teacher, a Catholic religious sister, played the album for Friday religion class. When I saw the play, my mom's grammar school teacher, a religious sister, sat in front of me.
