Hello, many thanks. You said in reported speech and conditional can becomes could, but the exemple you gave are in the past, of course can will become could. What about present tense. Can we say for exemple, "he says he can come" and "he can work if he wants to"?

Which one is correct, A or B? A) I could get two tickets to the concert yesterday. B) I was able to get two tickets yesterday.

Both are possible. Are only slight differences in meaning. Btw..it should be FOR yesterday s concert. NOT TO.. In the second sentence you can t buy more than two tickets because you don t have money.

@@Dakota-e9wjust look whether I am correct with the concept .In the above comment we should use ' for ' because we are benefitting from the concert whereas ' to ' is used for opinions.
