It's a sensible fold for Brewer as he saves 30bb. Maybe if the two 7bb stacks were bigger thus changimg the payout likelihood, he'd have called.
@garyk514111 ай бұрын
AJ off with ace of clubs is pretty much the only hand that he can beat that may take that line. He loses to all As combos tho i realise he wouldnt call an ug raise with most of them but A5s makes some sense. If brewer can open with k10s and jorstad knows that, he can potentially call wider especially as the big stack. He has all the set combos that turned a boat or quaded up. While this seems like an insane fold, considering the final table stakes in a 200k buy in, its really not that crazy from a world class player like Brewer. Nonetheless a very good fold by brewer that not many could make

Chris was kinda lucky he had the Kc and not the Ac. AXc would beat him, a few full houses beat him, and of course the nuts Espen had beats him. While Chris's hand was very strong, it was also not even close to a insta-call. Fold it? Wow, not sure I could.

I don't think he's betting anything worse than Brewer's holding for value. Bluff candidates: - 89s (3 combos) - AQo with the Ace of clubs (4 combos)
@dennisje292511 ай бұрын
AjS AND 10js are in total 4 combinations. one or 2 Acx combination. Maybe bluffs with some A10s, K10s, combination. So maybe around 15 combination you beat max. Lose against. couple of nut flushes. 99, 88, JJ. Also around 15 combination. So in a cash game this is probably an easy call (we do have an value beater). But with pay out, its a much harder decisions.

Given the preflop action the only bluffs I think Espen has here are slow player QQ/KK/AA which he is flatting very infrequently. Otherwise it is an AX with A of clubs that didn't get there and how many of those is he flatting pre? AQo maybe?

Sizing mistake by Espen on the river? With ICM implications here and a few really small stacks I wouldn't want to be putting Brewer all in there. Even if you leave him a few BBs
@iamamishiamamish815511 ай бұрын
I don't think Espen would have played a straight so aggressively, not when there are FH and flushes all over the shop. Even an Ace-high flush is at the low end of his value here, I think. As Brewer beats no value he's reduced to bluff catching on a board with value everywhere.
@stacymartin599311 ай бұрын
TT, AcTx, AcQx, QcQx... Pretty much the only bluffs out there. If he has AcJx... he checks river. AA, KK, AK... reraises pre flop.
@davidgibbins881211 ай бұрын
Not saying its an easy fold but it is a FOLD from me. JJ, 99, 88 are all viable hands Jespen calls with. At the turn I am hoping for the 7 or Q clubs to continue. Just looking at laddering with the 2 smaller stacks My nightmare is an Ac on the River. Had that happen to me when someone limped KK on a K22 flop. I was dead before I knew it

I am not a professional by any means, however, I think Espen should have raised just a bit bigger on a turn, leaving Chris with a small stack compared to the pot, easier to induce a call by the river shove
@Brandon-youtube11 ай бұрын
I think the ICM implication of being out is more important to him in this spot rather than "what percent of times do I need to be right here" because even though he only needs to be right about 1/3rd of the time here in a cash game, deep in a super high roller with two short stacks still at the table this is a much different decision
@HobbesJunior11 ай бұрын
he cant go bigger than near full pot, if opponent has a strong draw only, he is keeping him in,,, he could have bet maybe 1.1m on river instead, to induce a call, i think ... and yea, if 2 small stacks are at the table, a huge bluff in that spot makes little sense, but still nice fold :)

Can somebody tell me when Espen called all in on the River for 2.6 million, but he still had chips left. How is that all in? I thought all in was all your chips. Hey don’t bite my head guys, haven’t been playing poker that long. Thanks
@TC_WarDoc11 ай бұрын
Cause either opponent has to go broke when one puts all in and the other calls. So the actual exchange of chips here is the same no matter who bets all in. So it doesn’t matter if Espen counts out his chips or not. It’s either him covering Chris or him getting stacked when he get called and lose.
@denisfolcik137311 ай бұрын
Going, or calling an All In, depends on all stacks involved. If you go "All In" with 1 million chips, and get called by someone with 100k, and you lose, you would still have 900k left. You can only lose the amount your opponent has. If the stacks were reversed, and you have 100k compared to the 1M, if you lose you are out then.

While playing free to play poker games are basically a complete joke when it comes to strategy of any sort, if new to the game, it can help with understanding things like that, along with how the small and big blind work, along with ante. This page has a lot of helpful videos but are more geared towards more advanced concepts. If new, I'd recommend looking up videos by BlackRain, I believe there are numbers after his name but can't remember them. He has a lot of helpful videos for new players.

Really, a pretty easy fold with two 7bb stacks at the table. In fact, even calling the turn bet might be too much, again, because there are two tiny stacks at the table. Some of this will depend on the payout structure though. By persevering chips, he is putting himself in a position to jump two spots, and you don't want to be messing with those that cover you when there are crippled players on the table.

I'm a calling station 🚉⛽. That being said from my simple perspective. When you check ✔️✅ the flop and the turn and the river, in my mind you're telling your opponent my hand isn't that strong. This might induce your opponent to bluff or make thin value bets. I'm not 🚫 great at thin value bets on the river. But given the action I might value bet a smaller flush. Thinking I might get paid from 3Js or a smaller flush or maybe a stubborn straight. If you have a loose image you might get paid on thin value bets there. Bottom line I think I call on the river if I played my hand in this fashion.
