Besides the debate, I think the interesting thing that Jalen mentioned is that they were playing Juniors and Seniors. That's an important factor, because now the top players in the NCAA go to college after one year, school having to rebuild, while back then they had multiple seasons with the same team, building chemistry.

Duke was THAT team! ...and even in the Sophomore year when Chris Webber called timeout, you can't necessarily say they choked. Even after the timeout being called, they still had to score which was no guarantee that they would have. You can say Webber choked in that moment obviously but not the entire squad.

For 1 Duke doesn't even start 5 freshmen, there's only 4 of them so you can't even compare them to the Fab 5.. Plus the Fab 5 played in an Era when the best players were upperclassmen, they were playing against 21 and 22 yr Olds, the best players nowadays are freshmen and sophomores these Duke kids are playing against other freshmen their own ages.. But if they played, webber and Howard would dominate the post, Jalen Rose would school T. Jones.. Duke beat the Fab 5 freshmen twice that season and won the National championship game against them in 1992. The Fab 5 lost 8 regular season games an the National Championship for a total of 9 losses that season. Being that this years Duke team has only played 3 games so far we need to get the final year-end stats. We will have to see if this years Duke team gets beat 9 times.

The NCAA was so much stronger then. Let Duke atleast play half a season to even think of comparing them to the greats. Duke, UNLV, Michigan had wonderful squads with all American players on it. Players have not evolved to all being better either. Im 43 and still school these young dudes on the court. I forgot more moves than they know.

Current duke team would've beat the Fab 5 by a solid 15 points. Fab 5 were good, obviously, but their legend was more about their style and the way the played the game. Not necessarily how dominant they were. That's how they "changed" the game.
