Couldn’t get piece to eat my curry at Greenan Beach

This wander started off up the east side of Loch Lomond at Rowardennan before tacking us back over the Erskine Bridge and down to Ayr.
I had a curry in Ayr, had a walk on the beach but didn’t stay as I couldn’t get the park for night app to work.
We moved on to Greenan Foreshore, got another curry and settled down for the night. We had a pleasant evening and a peaceful night before wandering along to Greenan Castle and heading for home.

What a lovely sunset and a firey sky to waken to. The sound of the birds in the distance just reminds me of the seaside trips from childhood, when life was so simple really, and is just blissful

Most of my wanders recently have been by the sea, there is an ulterior motive. The Mighty Scottish Midge doesn’t go to the sea side, it stays inland. I will get round to some inland wanders once the midge season is over. We have just had a Military Weekend; as a result I have been working on a video that I will publish on Tuesday night. I try to video any events in the village so they can be there for posterity, make it easier for the future generations to get an accurate picture of the villages past.

@@wanderwithmac That's a great thing to do. I see the way events have dwindling audiences as the younger people don't always have the same connections with the past and the reasons we try to remember and honour those gone before. So you having recorded events is a very decent thing to do for future generations. I look forward to watching your next episode, always a good way to rid the stress of the day 👍

Hi Colin, didn’t know myself that I was going to end up on Greenan Shore. You are so lucky in Ayrshire for camping spots, great for beach camps in the summer and handy for the forest once the midges’ bugger of.

Another great one Mac. Please watch yer cholesterol my friend. Bacon, curries, chippies are our favourite but they're killers. I was only 46 when I had 2 heart attack. Please go see your GP you seem a bit breathless. Take good care. Sorry for mithering.

Hi just a wee note on troon beach , I live across from it and it's run by roads alliance . Last year they came round and if you didn't have a ticket on your phone they would help you with the app and it wasn't a problem , just so you don't get ticket anxiety .. This year they haven't been seen and there have been a couple of caravans and vans that have been on the same pitch for the last month and not moved .. Only supposed to be 3 days max .. It's open till the end of September .. I can't talk about the other spots down the coast but troon beach you don't need to worry ...... If they do turn up they will help you with the app .. Take care out there . Keep up with the vids ..

Thanks for that, most helpfull. I was in the area 2 weeks apart and noticed vans on my second trip that were still there from my first trip. I am less concerned now.

Mac you can't beat a good curry. Is that just an ordinary single bed in the back of your van and if so doe's if fit over the wheel arch ok ? 👍

It is a small single bed only 75cm wide, some times callled a caravan bed, I have extended the legs by 6 inchs so I can get storage boxes underneath. I will put a van build video up in the next 2 weeks.

If you struggle typing on a touch screen with sausage fingers ( I can only use one finger.....screens don't like the other ones) you can get a special pen for the job. They are no more than a couple of quid...eBay,Amazon or any phone shop should have a good selection. Makes life much easier. Or you could try and make your own with a pencil , a tiny magnet, a piece of rubber ( glove, balloon etc) and some superglue. Happy camping and give Morag a biscuit and a pat for me.
