A easy DIY to pull a fence like the chicken fence tight is to use two 2X4 boards (or whatever you have that's the right size and strength) and a Come-Along. Wrap the end between the 2X4's, roll at least once and clamp together tightly so wire is held in place. Attach the Come-Along to a tree, vehicle or some stable point and the other to the ends of your 2X4'S and tighten evenly. While pulled tight you can attach to your T-posts. The Girls will love their new space!

You have gotten me so excited for garden season and I cant being to tell you how much your tips and tricks both in the kitchen and in the garden have saved me money. My husband is blown away how much farther I can make our meals go, how much longer I can get between grocery runs and your tricks saved my veggie starts. I had all of them die last year, not one survived. This year at least half survived and are doing well. Your content is a life saver and I just love watching you. My husband gets a kick out of when you have a mistake in the kitchen or you break something cause the same things happen to me so often. I get to tell him that "See im not the only one" and we both get a chuckle. I love, love, love your content. All of it.

I put U shape pegs (they are called garden staples) all along the bottom of the fencing to add some more protection against predators trying to dig under the fencing. It won't stop predators completely but they are inexpensive and if you use a lot will add some security. Your chickens are lovely and your care and kindness to them is so nice to see.

Helpful hint for the fence. When stretching staple your end to the wooden post (staples that you hammer in) then take a rope to the top-middle-bottom of the other end tying it to the bumper of your pickup and move forward pulling the fence tight. Then you can continue you on around the other post stapling to the wooden and clipping to the T Post. Doing this you should never have to stretch again. 😊🙏🏼. Hope this helps. I’m an old farm girl so this brings back many memories.

@@cynthiafisher9907 How sad 🥺 I love to hear the roosters 🐓 crowing 🐓❣ I was raised in the city & loved it when my family went to Mount Vernon Maine to visit my Grandmother on her farm. She had all kinds of animals! One of my chores when I was young, was to gather the chickens eggs & bring them to my Grandmother so she could count them & pack them into egg crates. I loved hearing the roosters & I would sometimes hide & crow like a rooster just to watch the rooster come running to see what other rooster dared to show up in his territory 😄🤭❣ I was mischievous, I also did the same thing with the turkeys I loved it when they would all go gobble, gobble, gobble in unison 😅😂😁🤭❣ My Grandmother sold some eggs, raw cows milk, & she raised animals for their meat & byproducts. She had one fully horned huge (to us little one's) bull 🦬 named Billy, she had to put a cows bell around his neck so all the cows would know he was on his way to their section of the pasture. She never had to put a tether on him either, she walked with a switch (long length of a straight branch that was whittled to a narow point) at her side & she'd call him & he'd follow her anywhere she led him. She raised turkey's 🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃, lambs 🐑 🐑🐑🐑, horses 🐴, one was all white & she named him Trigger, who impregnated one of her other horses & had a calf named Lady. She had a couple of cows the tan one with the black nose, inner ears, tail tip & the hair around their hoofs were black too (she was the prettiest Cow I'd ever seen) she had real long black eyelashes too❣ I think she was Billy's favorite, she had a total of 2 of his calves 🤭❣ She had a man made fenced in pond made behind her house & had a huge salt block on a huge spike put towards the outer edge of the pond & every season we'd see wild ducks & geese fly in to have a rest & she'd go out to her barn across the road & get a bucket full of grain & pellets & she'd pour out some inside the fence in a few areas so the birds would have a good meal for every day they'd stay there. It was funny to watch them lick the salt block🤭❣ Sorry for rambling, got caught up in remembering my younger self & simpler times 🤭👍❣ I miss those days & my Grandmother too❣❣

@@cynthiafisher9907 Wow! You more than made up for missing out on the farm life as an adolescent🥰❣ Thank you for your kind words. I would love to be able to raise berries & a few other produce items, but living on a boat makes it difficult. Having orthopedic troubles hinders a lot if that type of work too. We're praying we can sell our boat & find a retirement community where I'll have an area where I can grow a few of our most used items. It's all in our Holy Father's plans for us 🥰❣ Congratulations on accomplishing your farm life❣ I'd love to see your chickens & your berry bushes in full bloom❣ I imagine it's all just so beautiful❣ I do miss not having all the fresh produce I had access to when I was younger & so much stronger 😁🥰❣ God bless you with an abundant harvest🥰🙌🙋♀️

We invested in a 48" fence stretcher with 5 hooks. You can hook it to any type of fencing and there's a circle on it so you can hook it to a wintch or come along, gets you a nice tight fence. It held the whole side tight while we attached the fencing to the posts, easy, fast and less arguments lol. Might be something to look into.
