It's not just metal that's versatile, it's music itself
@circolodellinconcludenza43694 жыл бұрын
@Vince Williams that's simply not true. The fact that rarely other music genres experiment with metal doesn't mean thst experimentation happens mostly in the metal scene. Animal collective is not a metal band; aphex twins are not a metal band; Ho99o9 are not a metal band; Xiu Xiu are not a metal band; Have a Nice Life are not a metal band; Sun ra was not a metal musician; James Chance and the Contortions were not a metal band; NIN were not a metal band (at least not mainly); and so on. Innovation and experimentation is and has been a big part of music at large. Even in classical music: go listen to some Alan Berg for instance. Music itself is flexible and artistry is deeply tied with the desire of experimenting and trying out new things. Plus, about your first statement, there are quite a few bands that combine metal with other genres, so I don't see your point (Sunn O))), the aforementioned Ho99o9, Boris, even that fucking Poppy girl, etc.)
