Mace and Dooku at the time of release really shaped the future of the line. Dooku is amazing and his presence on my shelf is always one i tend to focus on when skimming through my displays. Great Choice for a Banger guys! Wow a great time I remember as a BS collector. I had been in on TBS since day 1, but I will admit, 2015-2019 were rough and the product was EVERYWHERE. When this wave came out, I remember getting the notification that it was in stock while I was finishing up teaching a class and when they came in, Dooku was the one I looked forward to the most. Definite banger and definite mark for when TBS began turning around!

Dooku was my number 1 for the longest. Great likeness but more important to me, the smoothness and sturdiness of the joints really is what elevates him to near import level. Recently got SHF Dooku and warmed up to him a bit, so starting to notice things on TBS like as good as the likeness is, the face shine really spoils it. And while I love the swoosh, I think some lightning effect is way more essential for Dooku. Still a great figure, just no longer the import slayer I thought it was at first.

I don't think the Count really has a shine. The shine is something relatively knew (within the past couple of years) as far as I know. It looks like they just stopped applying the matte finish in the factory. -Justin

The Signature Figure of Superiority! Meanwhile at Hasbro: "It may be difficult to secure its re-release." I skipped on it because I arrived very late into the line and now being TVC focused, I can still respect this figure here. You are right to hold it in such high esteem. We have Bo-Katan (a great release still) and an outdated Vader (Galaxy Packaging and International Archive) being re-released. Brave of Hasbro... but we thought they would have learned their lesson. Tyranus is calling for a re-release! Surely they can do better! Would I buy it even as a non-TBS collector? Yes! Yes I would. Why? Sir Christopher Lee! And with us TVC getting Dooku very soon... There's a couple of salty comments in here already Bro-rinos!!! 😅😂 However, the "cover your faces" comment, I think was misconstrued, and the comment did mean for the camera autofocus? So with that in mind, I'll say "Actually cover, your actual faces, then disguise your actual voices, then change the name of your channel!!!" You're bloody welcome!! 😅😂 Secondly, this line DIED with the blue line releases and "hazza" haven't released a decent figure since 2015... Thirdly, Sunday's stream with everyone's favourite Croatian, "Akk-shon" was a banger! Thoroughly enjoyed that. Fourthly, absolutely try and grab that sdcc Obi-wobi-shinobi deluxe pack with his table. I somehow grabbed this, absolutely mint off ebay for 'fiddy' quid a couple of weeks ago and it's an absolute banger of a display piece. Seriously though, I'm probably classified as "obsessed" with the BS line now. I couldn't care less what the figures are like now, or previously. I pretty much love everything in the line. I love the crappy, older figures as a reference point to where we are now, if nothing else. As a "three-seven-five-child" I was converted to a "six-inch-grinch" back in 2015. Opened some 3.75 Sand Persons from retro, '97 and tvc to add to my 3.75 Tuskens display this morning, and to be frank, the diminutive scale is somewhat pathetic to me now!!

And now technically later today my wife and I are going to her mom's and stepdad's house to spend time and have dinner. Her stepdad's got cancer and has been going through hell the last 2 weeks. All you can do is be there for them and make absolutely sure they know you love them and care. Nothing else matters too much after that. Really glad to reconnect as I said. My troubles stemmed from some sort of nerve damage/problem in the base of my spine 2 months ago. I've only been given an MRI scan a couple of days ago and won't know results for 2? weeks. Been in constant pain for 2 months and previous to that, my daughter and her Girlfriend started living with me, so everything else went on the backburner.

I've had trouble with the vertebra in my back but never had the kind of pain you have described to me, I'm so sorry that you have been suffering through this difficult time my friend. I get some pins and needles from my neuropathy but I'm sure it's nothing compared to the pain you feel in your spine. @OutOfTheBasement I started out as black series only collector but Hasbro dropped the ball on the ANH crew, ROTS Anakin and Obi-Wan and IG-11 so thats why I get a few imports. I also just want the definitive version of the character. Another big reason is black series figures are very difficult to get into dynamic poses due to the lack of accessories. I need those alternate hands to make the figures look alive!

The action figure is very well made. I think it is a banger. Count Dooku is a character that makes me wonder what makes that character special and how should the action figure be represented. The photo real of Christopher Lee isn’t my minds eye of Dooku. He’s a venerable actor and did what he could with what Lucas gave him. Tatakovsky and the Clone Wars team fleshed out that character much better. The animated projects made that character interesting or more interesting to me. So I ask why is it important the action figure capture the live action actor’s visage? The simple answer is Black series is a toy line based on the live action product. So looking like that is its goal. But that just makes the toy more of a Christopher Lee item than Dooku to me. I also don’t have as much problem with pins. I think movement and stability is the deciding factor with or without pins. It is still a toy. I kind of would like to have a more exaggerated facial features action figure which is not cartoony but real enough. One looking more like the media in my minds eye.

That is a great figure…. I just wish one of these companies, would update the lightsabers completely. All 1/12 scale light sabers, regardless of maker, look like sticks of jolly rancher. If one of these companies could run a core of white opaque plastic down the center of the sabers then wrap that jolly rancher plastic around that opaque core, it would be a smash hit!

I love the figure but wish it had pinless double jointed knees and elbows, along with a bicep swivel. The ball jointed waist could be better too. The head and neck have pretty good attitude though. As always more hand options especially force lightning would be welcome.

@@OutOfTheBasement a factored in quality control, pricing, repacks/ repaints, deluxe pricing where it isn't needed and making double packs where we really only want 1 of the 2 figures and the other is just trash. Then there's the removal of thigh swivel. Hasbro before Chris Cox took over as CEO was doing great. Ever since he came in every brand took a hit because he got greedy and cheap. The only lines that didn't really compromise are Transformers and GI Joe. Yeah, they do repaints as well, but those brands listen to the feedback.

I thought last year was THE best year for the line as a whole. 2013 all the way to 2023 I think the line really started to improve in 2020 onward. The whole Super Battle Droid controvery is now moot with the pipeline of the single release that anyone who's been collecting Hasbro products could've guessed. The repacks/repaints argument is kind of getting old because new tooling has increased over time. There are more new tools per year these past few years than what came before. The amount of repaints has also gone up...but so has new sculpts. There are around 100 Black Series releases a year when we used to get more-so around 30-50. Those gimmicky repaints offset the cost for the surplus of new sculpts. I just don't buy complaining about repaints without also acknlowledging the higher number of new tools. -Justin

@@OutOfTheBasement repacks don't pay for new tooling. The argument just doesn't hold water when you look at their other lines. I rather they take the less is more approach. They had over 100 figures released last year with close to 70 being repaints and the roughly 30 new figures they released maybe at least half were inaccurate, improperly scaled or some engineering issue. We don't get alternate heads and hands like every Hasbro line does. We're lucky to get more than 1 accessory these days. Look at Morgan Elsbeth for example. It's just the figure. Shin and Baylan aren't scaled correctly and Baylan can pole vault with his lightsaber. I like the clone repaints and that's really it. That should be able to support the "repacks pay for new figures" claim on its own. Why can't Jedi get extra hands instead of just a lightsaber? Even you complained about the Inquisitors getting just 1 lightsaber with a peg in the middle of the hilt. TBS isn't even a top 5 line in the toy world. Wasn't even nominated for best line for Nerdzoics Nerdy awards. GI Joe won that category for the second year in a row and they don't release half as many figures as TBS and had a lower percentage of repaints. Lenny won't make a figure if he can't do it right at the time. Black Series won't hesitate to make a figure wrong and try to make you pay deluxe prices for it.

It sounds like you are just wrapped up in the wrong side of the community. Theres still plenty of people out here who love the line and look at it through a positive lens (us, Landspeeder Luke, Black Series Cantina, Robo, 1313, Lukenessmonster, skywalkerhendrix) the list literally goes on and on. The problem is the toxic bullshit rises to the top because collectors love to have that knee jerk reaction and viewers reward them for the insane reactions so the cycle continues and just gets worse and worse.
