I don't think New Edition doing an oldies album was a bad idea. I just think if they did Motown songs, it would have been better received. The 50's songs the producers choice were not the best or were very memorable. One other thing is that people don't seem to realize that Bobby leaving the group ultimately SAVED New Edition from the fate of all the other groups of that time who are no longer around today. It forced New Edition to grow up & evolve with Jam & Lewis plus entering Johnnie Gill.

Under The Blue Moon went Gold. When I bought it at the time I thought it was a new song album (I didn't know Earth Angel was a remake at the time) and was mad when I first listen to it.
