First time I went to Church I heard this hymn and I knew my life had changed from that moment. I could feel that someone was hugging me with his infinite love and that person was Jesus who accepted and loved me. I’m so happy to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Growing up Pentecostal, we used to sing this hymn all the time and I hated it! Now, as a recent convert, I never thought I could grow to love this. Boy, how wrong I was!

I think of this song when my best friend Carie comes to mind. She’s such a beautiful gift from the Lord and reminds all her friends to rejoice in the Lord even when things are hard. She always has a smile on her face, and it’s so heartwarming to see. I get to talk to her and pray for her every day on Facebook.

I've been out of "the church" for years now but the message of this song still rings true. I no longer believe in God, but I very much believe in being grateful and noticing things that you enjoy in life that you did nothing to earn. And if you just pay attention, and maybe put a little bit of effort in, you can discover them.

It may seem impossible to think gratitude can change our lives even make us happy when all seems very much not. But with time and faith and an effort to be grateful each of us can be grateful and happy every day of our lives. Press forward with faith and confidence in god in knowing our father in heaven has faith in you to see life through. Count your blessings name them one by one count your many blessings see what God hath done. Amen

A pipe organ?????? Omgoodness! I'm so glad I found this. My mom sounded like Julie Andrews. I wish you all could have heard he's singing this song with her sweet heart and the emotional projection.
