Thanks for uploading this. For people of the younger generation of the Lötschental, like me, it is really interesting to see how vastly things changed since then. The ski area nowadays tops at 3111, there are more beds in Lauchernalp then in Wiler and there are triple as many lifts as there where in 1974. Again, thanks for sharing.

Erik, Thanks for reminding us all of the beauty we were surrounded by! I was at Aiglon with Richard and Fiona and had dinner on a few occasions with the family. Interesting to hear the names of Zurbriggen, Morerod and Nadig in the background. All great champions. Adam B.

This came down my local cinema The ABC in Dover as the supporting feature to The Mean Machine (1974) in April 1975

Thanks for remembering, David! The distributor in London, CIC, had told me it would be going out with The Mean Machine and Airport 1975. Nice to finally hear from someone who saw it.

@@aiglon27 I'm afraid I didn't see it at the cinema because I was 9 years old at the time and the Mean Machine was of course an X certificate but I have the newspaper ad from my local newspaper at the time I have been a film buff since I was 9 years old I still miss the supporting features. Thank you very much for your reply very much appreciated its better than the Mean Machine

@@davidfrost2819 Most interesting that they bothered to also mention the supporting feature in the ad (yes, I loved watching the featurettes and even some of the commercials before the main attraction back in the '70s in London). If at all possible, could you scan that ad and perhaps send it to me in Los Angeles at efriedl@earthlink.net

Thanks for posting a comment, Harry. By the way, you might recognize Austin Elliott @ 15:50. And of course that's Richard McLennan who delivers the bravura solo performance in the deep powder at the very end.

The very first music cue you hear is production music from the Music Bakery. It's entitled "Beyond Words". If you would like the entire selection, send me an e-mail address and I'll send you the audio file. efriedl@earthlink.net

Erik Friedl Hi Erik, I mean the song beginning at 25 seconds.. that nice song with the violins and the 70thies feeling.. I am a big fan of that ski resort and your movie made me go back in time.. Great work !

annie parenteau That song would be Paul Mauriat's instrumental version of "The Fool" (written by Gilbert Montagné). Thanks for your comments and I'm glad you enjoyed the film.
