Why does the first place finisher get more dictionaries? If anyone, it would be the second place finisher that needs them. This is like giving Michael Phelps a swimming cap.

U just won... DICTIONARIES! "OK Boomer..." Wait, what?

Well, you could always sell the dictionaries and make 3,000 pounds more than the 2nd place prize.

This young lad is incredible. I'm more than twice his age, and he would've thrashed me big style if I was his opponent. A well deserved win.

Oliver looks nervous and confused, but he has shown his skills and is passionate about winning, he has won a championship prize a countdown cup, shows looks is not important just your skills, determination and confidence. Oliver must be the youngest winner of countdown.

Another way to get 466 is this: 3+9=12, 12X3=36, 36X10=360, 360+100=460, 460+6=466.

is he the best player to ever grace Countdown? and only 15 too!

There have been quite a few. Oliver is up there, but there are quite a few better than him. Conor Travers, Elliott Mellor, Jack Worsley, Innis Carson etc. are up with the highest players on the training site apterous.org, would highly recommend checking it out, you can play games of countdown online against real people, and is great practice. You get 30 free games, then it's £20 for a year of unlimited games, or £23 for the whole year and superstats.

If I were given the choice between £1000 I could spend on whatever I wanted, or a set of books supposedly "worth" £4000 I think I would go for the 1000 every time. It's not like he can sell it for £4000.
@jamesfilosa62777 жыл бұрын
no but you could probably sell them for £2000...

In the eleventh round, OAKIER and LAZIER are two more sixes. In the twelfth round, all my answers were scooped by the contestants and Dictionary Corner. I couldn't even come up with an interesting seven as an alternative, because the only two I could see were the result of removing the S's: SUBHEAD and QUASHED. In the last letters round, there were a couple of eights: PLATONIC and POETICAL. In the numbers round, I didn't even see Rachel's solution, but had this alternate solution instead: 9 x 3 = 27 27 - 3 = 24 100 - 24 = 76 76 x 6 = 456 456 + 10 = 466
