Including as a speeding drummer LoL. Anyway, nothing but respect for the legendary Stewart Copeland, who, along with Sting and Andy, each are an important part of the chemistry which made The Police become a legendary great band
@danhamilton8152Ай бұрын
You can see him get (understandably) pissed when Sting takes that little shot toward the end "don't slow down" when he was not slowing down. He ends the song with gritted teeth and a scowl and it's easy to see why.

@@joejohnson6321No they didnt! They formed as more of a punk band. Stewart Copeland was in a prog rock band called Curved Air and Sting was in a jazz band called Last Exit. Andy had been a session musician for many years before joining

Musical legends. Sting's ability to play fretless without sliding around or using vibrato just goes to show the accuracy of his intonation. And as for Copeland? I mean, what is there to say? 👌🏻

I dare any guitarist, including clapton, to try to imitate and replicate what Andy's doing with harmonics in the bridge after the second chorus.
@stephenstone8480Ай бұрын
I'll name two for starters...Jimi Hendrix and Jeff Beck could play circles around Andy Summers...and by the way...Clapton could, too.
@peterjonas4971Ай бұрын
@@stephenstone8480 Jimi took rock and roll blues to a new level. Clapton and Beck merely did what hundereds in London were doing at that time. Andy went the other way; he re-fingered all the traditional chords. Plus he could rip blues or jazz solos at will. Before the internet, no one knew how to play his songs. Based on what are you making your claims?

Strange how a group this good ended up on the “naff” side of the line, when other much more less talented bands (New Order, Echo and the Bunnymen etc) ended up being revered by the press. Just watched some live Pulp footage, it’s like thin gruel compared to this. The Police introduced more white people to reggae than The Clash ever did.

Een muziekvideo en dan met vreselijk mono geluid? Duim omlaag.
@moow9507 ай бұрын
