The Russians did not say clearly if these drones were launched from Finland, but the flight recorded on the radar clearly indicates that they flew parallel to the common border to the north, after which they entered Russian territory. If you think about it, before that we saw the same hostile attitude towards civilians in Mariupol, for some reason the Ukrainian military did not consider the residents of Ukrainian Mariupol to be citizens of Ukraine. But most of them still have them against those who are 'weaker' ... children, women, old people, animals ... and try not to harm those people. Did anyone really expect Ukraine hold the Kursk region, especially in the winter? They will simply withdraw, trying to attrite as many russians as possible, look for another gap and counter attack somewhere else again. The fact that it happened, shows the russians concentrated to many troops in a few areas. The Ukrainians are much smaller, when you fight a big guy you punch in throat,knees and temple.. trying not to wrestle him..

Did anyone really see any sense in ukraine wasting so many resources in Kursk while Russia is advancing in the Donbass? The fact that they, and their sponsors, underestimated Russian force numbers and thought they would be forced to stop their Donbass operations to respond to this ukrainian incursion indicates they believe too much of their own PR. Russia is taking the opportunity to attrite as many of those ukrainian reserves as possible in Kursk before they eventually pull out.

@@fred4687 Judging by the long response I would say that the Russians even tried to wait a little bit to see if Ukranians would perhaps bring even more troops into Kursk. After all it's much easier for Russia to decimate large numbers of the Ukranian army on their own turf rather than having to push into Ukraine. Looks to me like they definitely made themselves look a lot weaker in Kursk than they actually were.

That opening segment was a true Dima shit show. Describing Ukrainians significantly improving their Kursk positions while showing it as Russian advances has become a rather repetitive problem over the past 2 1/2 years. Perhaps using a script just for the specific changes would cost minimal extra work while ensuring minimal confusion in reporting for viewers.

I only find it to happen so often that it’s probably prudent to at least minimally work with a script when covering the battles and maneuvers that change the map. I have followed this since it’s inception ten years ago, and I continue to follow at the sources on telegram and Russian media, but for those only getting their info from his channel it must be incredibly confusing. If I have to go back to quickly make sure I heard it correctly I can imagine it’s a total shit show for casual viewers.

Can you confirm the date that video was taken? If not, it can not be assumed to be recent because many times Ukrainian (and Russian) mappers have published old data to pass it off as new. You say that the recent updates to the map are likely "wishful thinking" (on the part of the Russians). Why do you say that? Are you doubting the Russians?

The Russian military believed they had five brigades in reserve back in August. That was right after their offensive began. Right now they have an extreme shortage of equipment and weapons. Forbes has an article about it saying they can't arm new brigades and are relying on 60s and 70s equipment.
