Ye lo smjhke notes bhi bana diya. 😎 COUNTER-CURRENT MECHANISM • Impure blood comes through afferent arteriole to Glomerulus. Unnecessary/Filterable blood components include water, nitrogenous waste, and nutrients that will be transferred into the glomerulus to form the glomerular filtrate. •Glomerulus give the necessary/Non-filterable blood components include blood cells, albumins, and platelets, that will leave the glomerulus through the efferent arteriole to heart. • The waste material/Glomerular filtrate goes through descending limb of Henley loop where Water reabsorption begins so the concentration of filtrate increases, at the tip it reaches to 1200 mOsm/L. But when the filtrate reaches to ascending limb of Henley loop where reabsorption of solute/electrolytes begin and the solution becomes dilute. • The filtrate reached to DCT as the same concentration from which the filtrate came or received. •When the Glomerular filtrate reaches to the DCT (Distal convulated tubule) region, when we get dehydrated then there 2 hormones act on it-ADH (Anti-Diuretic hormone/Vasopressin) released from Posterior Pituitary & ALDOSTERONE release from adrenal cortex of adrenal gland. • They commands DCT to reabsorb the water & some NaCl from filtrate. Means Conditioner reabsorption of water and salt from DCT. Hence, reabsorption water is more the more concentrated Glomerular filtrate will be. •When the filtrate reaches to the collecting duct ADH again acts and commands it to reabsorb the water and send it to the medullary interstitium because there is lack of water. So many times reabsorption of water will be the more concentrated the final product expelled. To maintain the balance of ions, lil bit of urea also get reabsorbed. Hence, The urine will be concentrated. (Note: it's also said that Human kidney can produce urine 4x times more concentrated than Glomerular filtrate ) So what happens here (In Counter current Mechanism) is - The isotonic filtrate (300 mOsm/L) changes into Hypertonic urine. As ma'am said Counter current Mechanism refers to process by which Isotonic Glomerular filtrate changed into Hypertonic urine. Hence Proved 😄😅.
