I remember pulling out an old office laptop from 2006. It had Counter-Strike installed. It was 2019 and lots of servers were still going. Most of them had custom maps and everything felt like a fever dream. I really wish I could've experienced this at its popularity peak. I sadly couldn't install any programs on the family computer until then and it wouldn't run most games.

If you've ever seen the "Door Stuck!" video it reminds me a lot of playing old CS in its heyday. Maybe I'm seeing it through rose-tinted glasses but OG CS was a mix of half-terrible but still fun custom maps, really good players, and people goofing off. I was 16 in 2002 and CS, TFC & Sven Co-Op along with a bunch of other HL mods made up some of my favorite memories growing up, in-game or otherwise.

as someone born in 2002 (with strict parent) i never understood the peak era of cs 1.5/1.6 mostly cause i wasnt allowed to play due to how "addictive and rage inducing was the game" and me being a child heck even vice city was way too much for me due to how limited i was by mom somehow i learned to download and install games off the internet, and a friend gave me a copy of vice city, on a cd, hid it well trough folders and sub folders, im impressed 8-7 years old me was that smart, and whenever she would leave i would play gta haha. sadly i did not experience cs 1.6/1.5 when it was at peak and by the time i got to actually try it was already 2017 when i got my first computer, which was pretty much trash but it did had an amd r9 240 or smth as a gpu and an Athlon 2 with 6gb of ram. soo ofc i tried it, cant quite say i had fun, again if you dont play something at the time or watch something at the time it comes out or it's peak later it feels outdated af. so ofc my brain couldn't had fun with a game from almost 20 years ago. i hate i didnt got to experience a lot of stuff people may call nostalgic, such as cs 1.6/ half life, portal 1, nintendo games and game cube or game boy, i did not have those, growing up in a post communist country couldn't get a lot of games, especially as a kid. i mostly played games on a website called.. (my play city?) which later found was a virus, some emulated games trough a program called (mame?) i think was the name? and games on friv and miniclip. the usual at that time. slowly with age i branched myself towards shooters as i didnt know there are other games, and by age 9-10 i learned about a shooter game with realistic graphics called (call of duty) which was the doom of me, i was obsessed , then after i got into "Wolfenstein return to castle" oh boy Wolfenstein. i would skip school, not do my homework, not eat, all day id play the same levels trying to find every secret, not get a single hit on me and 100% the map as efficiently as possible, was so addicted at some point i sleep walked and was "looking for my gun" mom saw me and got me back in bed. i remember those robotic muscular things, man those would scare me so much to the point i was afraid to even play those levels, id just go back on my saves haha. Even if my "career" as a gamer started rough, i somehow went from playing zuma to playing almost all the older and outdated games, up to the present, do i regret it? eh, i put more time in games than in my future, but im slowly trying to work myself up. As for you my guy, this, this whole channel is amazing, i love that you're bringing people back to simpler times, and give us a break from loud youtubers screaming at the slightest stuff, fake and skibidi toilet. overall, you made me feel like a kid again, im sure not 30 or older, but its enough to make a 21years old want to be young again. the doomed internet explorer. the yahoo messenger era. in fact, im downloading a virtual machine to boot windows XP on it. hope to see you hit the big numbers, you gained a subscriber

This video made me nostalgic for the good old days when I played Counter-Strike 1.5. It was a legendary version of the game, which was released in 2002 and brought a lot of innovations and improvements. In this version there were such maps as de_aztec, de_dust2, cs_office, cs_italy and others. Also new weapons such as FAMAS, Galil, Shield, Tactical Shield and others were added. In this version, the game became more realistic and dynamic, and the graphics and sound became better. My older brother ran a CS server at our house. It was so much fun. Those were the days. I was 12 at the time.

I was born in 2002 so i wasn't able to experience internet at that time, i've started using computers, playing cs and other stuff some time before windows vista was out. But i can imagine the sheer nostalgia it gives some people, hell, even on myself. I don't know, but simply looking at websites with that old simplistic aesthetic gives me just an ounce of nostalgia. Thanks for your nice video!

I'm glad the video gave you nostalgia even if you didn't experience it :)
