I'm still sure that many skins will change a lot in the final version. For example, at least due to the fact that in the past the "Battle sacred" setting meant that the weapon would look like it was rubbed with sandpaper, but now this setting means almost nothing, since the weapons just get a couple of small scratches and look almost perfect. I understand that the new game engine was supposed to improve lighting, but the fact that with the new engine 'beaten' weapons look like new is more of a bug, not a feature. I'd be pretty careful about showing skins based on their wear. Chances are the field tested skins would look way worse in the final release, otherwise there's no need for FN items anymore and the market value will drop insanely.

he can't show the actual float in cs2 because all skins get shown in good wear, my guess is he took the items from his inventory and not an FN inspect so that's it's a good wear on both sides

@@S4NSE I did specifically choose floats/skins which had the biggest improvement going from CSGO to CS2, so for example the whiteout FN in both games looks identical aside from the new model, but the field-tested is much cleaner in CS2 then CSGO. If you choose worse floats it starts to look worse in CS2 as well as you can see in my wear comparison video. In general CS2 does look cleaner though.

wear patterns are bugged and I don‘t think the question of which skins are going to get the new CS2 model can be answered yet. way too early to draw meaningful conclusions in the most cases, but i bought a glock gamma doppler phase 4, looks sick even on the old model

Glove wear actually appears to be bugged, but the new model skins having less wear is 100% intentional. There is wear on the new model weapons it is just significantly less than in CSGO (in most cases). They might eventually revert more skins to the old model (as they have already done) which would result in the exact same wear as CSGO. However I would bet that future CS2 skins will use the new model wear which is much less significant.

@@amphimyko gun model transfers for old skins are final I believe. there are two types of pattern based skins. one is projected onto skin's 3d model and other is projected onto skin's UV map. all skins in the first category currently using new models because it's too easy to implement on new models. so there is no reason to downgrade them. all skins in the second category reverted to old models and it's not possible to upgrade them without changing old patterns like case hardeneds.

Wear can be modified by changing it's value number and Valve didn't even bother to apply the correct numbers on this beta as their main concern is gameplay and bug fixing, not skins and cosmetics. You're delusional if you think a battle scarred skin will look like a field tested one in CS2.

@@digitalprofile1320 Valve could revert current old skins on the new models/low wear back to old models/high wear (as they have already done). However I'm speculating that this is all preparation for native CS2 skins having less significant wear in general. The whole reason wear was so significant in CSGO is the devs initially thought high wear skins would be very desirable.

Imo the Glock Gamma Doppler phases 1-3 and especially 4 profit more from CS2 than emeralds because they are so much brighter now.

I think its fair to say that the wear paterns are bugged and you are doing a diservice to people showing them these comparisons because it will no doubt change in the future. The game isnt released yet, its in testing

Most people don't have access to the limited test and valve clearly want feedback. Now many more can give feedback based on their thoughts of what changed. I could be more verbose and repeatedly state that this is a limited test but from what I read pretty much everyone understands this. I don't really see how it can be seen as bad, I mean skins even changed in CSGO (normal map update, etc.)

I believe skin wears not going to look like as it is right now. I would'nt buy any skins right now by looking at their wears in cs2.
