I don't think people understand why CS2 had a basic trailer. The whole point of the CS:GO trailer was to show you how the game works. It showed gunplay, team positioning, grenades and more. Since CS2 is not really anything new and is just more of a reskin, there was really nothing to show new except for the new graphics and features.

@@Scythe1337 yea we used to go with some buddies right after school with our backpacks still on :D We used to always play along side one another and at first we just went for an hour or two, later we used to go and mess around neighborhood for few hours and then we came back for some more CS 1.6. It was extremely cheap back then. When our time was up we used to plan our next move. "Maybe one more hour?"- I asked a friend. "Wait here, I'll ask my grandma if she has some change". And we came back after a while for another hours of 1.6 :D I was the only of the few that has had a pc at home but I still prefered to go with mates to our Cafe. CS and Cafes and these carefree years... nostalgia.

Man, I'm 31 now, but I remember when, as a kid, I used to mow the lawn to earn a couple of bucks and then go to play CS 1.6 at a café for an hour. Those were the best times for a kid who lived in a remote rural city in the middle of Patagonia! I love this game. Uses the new source 2 engine to make it feel so much more alive but the guns and recoil still feel like old counter strike, not like all these new shooters where the recoil is so realistic its unfun. amazing.

I think that was done on purpose for the community. Valve is perfectly capable of building reliastic recoil and weapon feel, but they are dedicated to make this a continuum of the legacy. That means the skills aquired by millions of dedicated fans are not nullfied or have to be retrained, because they change the weapon recoil. I see the point, but from their point of view, their approach is also perfectly logical.

Hard to admit, but I think my favourite era of counterstrike is over. I remember when csgo came out there were problems and broken promises (cross play never happened) but the game had SOUL, and a high budget trailer got people very hyped. Things are just not the same now, hopefully valve will drop a banger operation, but tbh we're probably just getting more dumb stuff like CT agents wearing scubadiving outfits.

The CS:GO trailer was supposed to show how the game worked by showing things like grenades and guns. Since CS2 is not really anything new and is just a reskin, there was really nothing left to show except for the new features and graphics.

Same. They always dominate the market the moment something new comes out. ❤ New VR headset? TOP of it’s class. Handheld console? Same. First VR game? TOP of it’s class too. And all the other Valve games… TF2, CS:GO, Portal, L4D2, the list goes on… All relevant and stand the test of time for whole decades. Safe to say, Valve may be slow. But they do things right. That’s why Valve rules. 😊

@@MightySavagE there is nothing to explain, they made an update with a small amount of content(the content itself is fairly polished and smokes will change some of how the game is played) but literally the playerbase is so starved for content that they gaslit themselves into thinking cs2 would change the genre or something. give it 1 month before theres mass outrage about how valve shouldnt have called this cs2

@@jarekcampbell4655 I am from Russia myself and I have many friends with whom I played cs:go now I can't play with them, someone didn't like cs2 and someone just wasn't interested due to the fact that cs2 has very few maps compared to CS GO in my case, my favorite maps disappeared and there were 50-60 percent fewer maps in cs-2, this is a trifle, but for me the interface I like CS GO and music a lot more

I remember seeing CS 1 and Counter-Strike: Source as a kid along those days where Zombie Master ruled the multiplayer PC space, when Steam was still a musky olive green with an extremely old UI that looked like it was operating on a Windows 98 PC, aesthetically. While I miss those days I'm extremely happy to see this game continue to evolve. Much love Valve

I’m old enough that I was on CS before steam existed and it was still HL1 beta xD mIRC days and ventrilo/teamspeak were the main voice comms used back then But agreed, absolutely amazing to watch the growth of CS from then to now and a testimony to how good it really is. There is NO other game that’s been around 25 years nearly and has seen nothing but continued growth over that period, and it’s not dying anytime soon.

ive been playing cs since 1.5 days and i use to download ping of death podbots to play offline. those where the times. cheers to gaben for making games that touched my heart as i was growing up going through hard times as a kid, being able to become gorden freeman really took me out of the real world and put me into a world where i could be the hero, where i could save the ones i care for and it gave me hope to do those things in real life.congratulations and looking forward to see what more Valve brings to pc gamers in the future😃

😂😂😂 counter strike going Free to Play = it's dead Have you not learned anything from TF2? Corporates don't pick a game and make them based on nostalgic. They invest money into an IP based on Charts and Demographics. Kids (aka zoomers) nowadays don't even wtf is Counter Strike or let alone Half Life...they literally don't know anything other than FortNite and CoD. I'm not saying I support these mentality but this is how game development works nowadays. The soul has been sucked out a long time ago. With CS2 rehashing all assets and slap a free to play sticker on is them saying "okay well let's do one last asset flip and dripple the IV until about 5 more years".
