The video would have a lot more basis and impact if you had mentioned and showed examples of the Rio stickers pre-patch. Valve released Paris stickers with an almost illegible design lacking contrast that made it nearly impossible to read. After a week of outcry and huge lack of interest from the market, Valve changed the stickers to what they look like now. Nobody was upset at the post-patch stickers like you've shown here at 1:19 . The greatest cause of the dislike toward Rio which led to its undersupply was its pre-patch artwork, which is never mentioned in this video.

Even with the post-patch there are still a lot of people who dislike Rio stickers. Also the post-patch happened when Rio capsules were still on sale, so if people really had a significant change of heart than we would see more supply than we have currently. I do get your point though, the post-patch did make them better and the initial design left a bad first impression.

Also the Paris stickers and capsules look promising right now, i thought there would be more hype when the 75% sale comes around, but looking at the current price and quantity it looks like people are not opening capsules that much.

People aren't opening capsules right now because they're so focused on investing into this major. People reckon the capsules will most likely be more valuable than the current steam price in the future. Even though people are thinking this way, they still expect the capsules to decrease in price after the sale ends. Usually when everyone that is investing anticipates something to happen, the complete opposite occurs.

don't forget, anything bought within the sale cannot be marketed until 7 days after the capsules were bought. so the capsules being opened hasn't been priced into the market yet.

@@Metalshark100 That's something the entire community has been saying because they want to find a way to make sense of the market. In reality everyone has access to the capsules at a discount right now and any opened stickers can be listed on the market. The issue is that there are so many investors right now that even if these Paris capsules go slightly below the in-store selling price, people will buy them up like hot cakes because they're so confident in this major being a success investment. The reason Antwerp capsules went so low was because of fear in the market, people thought Antwerp was RMR 2.0 for a 3 month span.

30k listings isn't much compared to how old it is. When Stockholm concluded, the challengers capsule had near to 30k listings and now it's incredibly rare. The autograph capsules are even rarer so imagine how scare these gold Rio stickers will be.

i unboxed the s1mple rio gold while it was on sale. i sold it for 50 euro. it has been up to 180 euro now its around 90. i pretty much regret it

I don't think many people could predict that these stickers would be this successful early on. Everyone was doubting them yet they are doing fine. You can always redeem yourself and invest into a few items. I'd recommend the Tyloo holo from Stockholm. Next year is the year of the dragon for China, so that sticker will see a big jump in price.

I will hold my Rio capsules. Sometimes it feels like a forgotten major. When it comes to sticker and capsules, most of the KZbinr only mention Stockholm, Antwerp and Paris. It feels like Rio never existed 😁 I will personally stay away from Paris: As I remember correctly, everyone liked RMR. No one said they look like sh*t. Nearly everyone invested then. Everyone were talking about it how many capsules they are going to buy. Then, RMR failed as investment and everyone began to hate it and to say how ugly they are (the history was exactly the opposite of Krakow) I hesitate to invest in Paris, because there will be so many people, who will invest thousands of Dollars and dump the holdings when they are in profit (short-term). Why should the price skyrocket, when everyone are already sitting on a bag of paris capsules and stickers? I think Paris will be not as bad as RMR but not as good as Antwerp.

I think it depends on what you buy when it comes to investing into Paris. The autograph holos and golds are looking like a solid investment right now, but the higher tier team holos are very questionable. Why would you buy an Apeks holo for $10 when you can buy a Virtus.pro holo from Stockholm at the same price, this all makes it seem like some Paris stickers are in an investment bubble.

@@cstrends, well in my positive reasons why Valve do that to Paris stickers be borderless is : - A nice goodbye to CSGO beacause if they made another background sticker which is either mid or bad the community will be very sad and mad and disappointed since it's the last major stickers to CSGO - To recover the failure of Rio stickers since it is the least bought major sticker in the game. - Devoloping CS2 which made them having not much time to design a background.

You forgot the new cs2 update where rio golds look spectacular now, the black bg is now gold and is easily reminiscent of krawow 2017 golds, making it a worthwhile investment since you can still buy in at a reasonable price

The issue is Valve keeps changing the look of every gold sticker. I'm not sure if that's due to them fixing bugs in the workshop tools or if it's intentional. I do hope they keep the current look of Rio in CS2, but at this point it's not guaranteed.

Yes you would have made more with Antwerp but this video goes into how they will perform beyond this year. Prefrences change as seen with Berlin gold stickers and even London gold stickers. This trend has happened before, rarity is a factor but you don't need an item with little supply to have a huge amount of popularity to gain demand with niche buyers.
