Can you share this power point? I found it so helpful!

This is an interesting subject. As you know I'm still a student. But I work in a treatment center and have some one on one's. I find myself to be over critical and I still cannot separate my inner world, my own thoughts on and so on from what is going on with the client. Currently I am focusing on listening, just listening, not giving opinions. I feel like this is going to be a long learning process. It's it appropriate to use counseling skills within real-life non-professional personal relationships?

It depends on which counseling skills you are speaking to. If it is the microcounseling skills, then, yes. It is appropriate to use the microcounseling skills while communicating with everyone. The microcounseling skills are just communication skills. Here is an easy book that I authored to help guide you in the simple use of all of the microcounseling skills. Skills Made Simple: Microcounseling Skills for Counselors at a.co/d/aOvLl3f With this book are demonstration videos to match each chapter. I believe you will progress with the heightened awareness you demonstrate, practice, and strong supervision! Thank you for your service to so many who benefit from your help!
