Love that lyric, it seems to be a nod to Mrs Potter’s Lullaby (2nd verse) - “If you've never stared off into the distance Then your life is a shame And though I'll never forget your face Sometimes I can't remember my name” I guess Adam’s songwriting style links most of his songs together in one way or another....Again in Mrs Potters Lullaby (3rd verse) where he says “Well, there’s a piece of Maria in every song that I sing” I just love the songwriting style, it truly fascinates me. I love this song! I've always that "August and Everthing After" is one of the best debut albums. I still listen to it today. Even though I'm in the last year of "boomers" , i love music and we have a great station here The Bridge 105.5 that plays good rock and alternative music from 1990 and beyond.
