Counting the Orioles: So Many Beautiful Birds!

Spring 2024 brings us the most Baltimore Orioles that we have ever seen. On this one day, we had 95 Baltimore Oriole visits at the bird feeder. Amazing!

We never saw them here until we started putting food out for them 4 years ago. The first year we only saw a couple of them, but each year since we see more and more. This year is definitely the most so far 😊

Welcome! We're so glad you're loving the channel! We feed the squirrels on the ground to keep them happy. We also have squirrel baffles on the feeder and camera pole, however that does not keep the squirrels off 100% of the time. We have a couple of acrobats who are able to conquer the baffles ☺

Looks like Tennessee is on the range map for Baltimore Orioles breeding.What food do you put out to attract them? They like grape jelly and oranges, although we don't see them eating the oranges very often here. They will also drink nectar. We have an Oriole nectar feeder (not seen on live cam view) that they do drink from as well.

@@gettysburglivecam9188 I know right, I have tried for many years with grape jelly and oranges and even apples on an orange feeder just for them but all I got was starlings and mockingbirds and bees so I just gave up. I got excited one day though I thought at first it was an oriole but it turns out it was a black headed grosbeak which was very cool for me cause I have never seen one of those either and I only saw him once that was last year haven’t seen him this year.☹️ I might try again one day but for now I just assumed that my feeders are just to close to my house maybe they are just very shy of course I’m just guessing. 🤷‍♀️

Can someone please let me know what I heard last night @t the 1:56 time it was very odd sounding in fact scary 😱 nerve even heard an animal make that sound before it was behind the camera never even seen it
