The problems with videos like these is that it gives a very raw picture. It is like judging the book by its covers. The Chinese covers are the largest but that doesn't mean they contain the most information. It is the quality of these patents that matter not the quantity. It is very hard to measure which nation has the best quality patents but it is easy just to see real world examples. In the real world China is definitely not half the output

Yet if I give the teacher 10 suggestions to a problem and you give 1 but you fix the problem who is better? China has so many patents in AI and whatnot but if you just check what is the leading hardware, where are the most powerful supercomputers for AI, what companies invest the most in AI, what are the best softwares and things like that you will find that China has a lot of patents but not a lot going for them.
