@Oscar Wong It's not a dislike of the Chinese people but of the State. And the State definitely deserves some criticism. Economically they are doing great because they have largely adopted capitalism but they are still extremely lacking in the free speech and individual liberty categories. You get a really unclear picture of China from the outside because opinions counter to the governments official stance are heavily censored. Which creates this view from outside that every Chinese person is an unthinking, unemotional drone in complete lock step with their government. Everyone hates America too, but at least Americans have no shortage of open self criticism, which makes their patriotism at least a little more palatable. Maybe one day some of the Chinese economic freedom will spill over into social and political freedom and people on the outside will get to see Chinese people as the individual humans they are.

The rise of US patents in 200x was due to Russian(former USSR) and Chinese scientists mostly. 80s was the fall of USSR that begun in 60s. Russia (1991) kept falling down, rejecting USSR legacy ( for ex. Soviet education system was one of the best in the world), thus labeling everything communistic as bad. It led to degradation of education system, destruction of thousands of plants and factories. China on the other hand was doing quite the opposite. China partially based its own education on the soviet system (USSR), and kept improving it over the years. Little by little that grew into amazing results. US policy was always mediocre education inside the country, and "lets buy specialists all over the world". You cannot do it forever, though. This is the ultimate proof that country can only be great if you have your own quality education system and your government actively supports science.
@emmanuilushka Жыл бұрын
