I've heard the guitar solo in this song "attempted" by many ....but NEVER DUPLICATED. RIP the one and ONLY Gary Richrath❤

Yeah I've heard this tune a million times and it's definitely the studio version dubbed in. But they were always a stellar live band. The late Gary Richrath on lead guitar was their driving force though.

Loverboy, Styx and REO Speedwagon are on tour together. I would love to see that party.

I've heard very little about REO before the high imfedility album so I can't give an opinion against it all I know is that I can never get tired of listening to Keep on loving you, And I can't fight this feeling, those 2 songs are my favorites I can relate to the lyrics and unless you're very negative about relationships and being in love with a woman, I can understand why people don't like this songs.

Have you heard REO’s song “Golden Country”? Gary Richrath was one of the best though very underrated. Gary’s performance on the live version is phenomenal.

Saw REO 6 times love everything they made but the 2 favorite albums are You can tune a piano but can’t tune a fish”” and Nine lives . And btw the song you are listening to to is the original studio recording, that guitar solo was done by the one and only Gary Richrath who passed away before this live performance. He was by far the most underrated lead guitarist. Plenty to check out with REO tho they are the best of the best of the Arena Rock days!

I prefer REO in the early 70's. Their first album from 1971 was amazing, a fantastic rock album. The album closed with the brilliant 10 minute song "Dead at Last". The album rocks, and IMO is far better than the bubblegum pop that they produced in the 80's. Thanks for the reaction, any REO is better than none.

This was definitely not live. They were using the studio version to sync to. The shame of it all was this band in their prime was great live. Their original guitarist Gary Richrath was extremely good at bringing energy to the guitar solos and I'm sure he will be missed.

They sound great for as aged as they are!

REO Speedwagon was much better when Gary Richrath was playing lead guitar. He also wrote most of their best songs. The lead singer ran off the best members of this band with his soft pop stuff. Please look for Golden Country or Ridin' The Storm Out live from the mid '70's,you will see them at their best. They were a great rock band in the '70's.Gary was so great at engaging the crowd. Also look for Gary doing the Flying Turkey Trot, you won't be disappointed with Gary playing his '59 Les Paul. Thanks Travis and hope all is good with you.

Original Audio, current video. Not the same guitarist or drummer as the original. Weird.

Crap! This is the later lineup without Gary. I don’t like it when people react to 40+ year old songs 40 years later without the original band. Gary Richrath wrote or co-wrote many of their songs. He wrote those solos.

On the original lineup, the drummer did sing harmonies. Keyboardist never sang.

Such a deceptive video. Definitely the original studio. Gary is probably turning over in his grave! So sad.

You need need to react to Gary Richrath play guitar. This guy is a cheap knock off. 70's - 80'S videos or nothing.
