One thing that was missing was cleaning video by, for example, Neat Video (or some AviSynth script).

I understand that but it's time consuming and always comes at a cost of washing out details, So I try to stay away from that kind of processing as much as I can.

@@Capturing-Memories Always noticed that your videos are basically horizontal dropout free - is that the VCR compensating well, or is it something the BE75 is doing?

@@orihalcon8693 It's a combination of good condition tapes, and good playback VCR.

@@Capturing-Memories and you're absolutely right. personally i even wouldn't use any noise reduction at all, even from the vcr itself. but that's said, your results are really good :)
